It’s entirely up to you which horse you go for, but it would make sense to select a horse with fairly short odds in the hope of a 2nd, 3rd or 4th place finish.
At the time of writing, the back and lay odds aren’t quite tight enough. Beacon Edge is favourite to win the race at back odds of 2.50 (6/4). I’ll use lay odds of 2.70 to illustrate how this offer works and I’ll update the bottom of this post with a genuine selection after the race.

Place £10.00 on Beacon Edge @ 2.50 = Potential profit of £15.00
Lay £9.33 on Beacon Edge @ 2.70 = Potential liability of £15.86

So, we would make a nice profit of £7.14 if Beacon Edge finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th and we would stand to lose £0.86 on any other outcome. Risking £0.86 to make a profit of £7.14 gives us effective odds of 9.30, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.
