Key Terms:
- We must place a single bet of £10.00+ or £10.00 each way on the Gold Cup Handicap Chase.

For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Siruh Du Lac.
At the time of writing, the lay odds aren’t quite tight enough, so I’ll use fictional lay odds for Slate House in the following example and I’ll update the bottom of the post with an actual selection after the race.

Place £10.00 on Slate House @ 6.50 = Potential profit of £55.00
Lay £9.59 on Slate House @ 6.80 = Potential liability of £55.62

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

So, if Siruh Du Lac wins, we’ll make a nice profit of £7.39! Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £0.62. Risking £0.62 to make a profit of £7.39, gives us effective odds of 12.92. So, given that Siruh Du Lac is odds of just 7.50 (13/2) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
