For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Oh This Is Us. At the time of writing, the lay odds aren’t quite tight enough, so I’ll use fictional lay odds for Documenting (7/2) in the following example and I’ll update the bottom of the post with an actual selection after the race.

Aim to lose no more than £0.60 on our qualifying bet

So, if Oh This Is Us wins, we’ll make a nice profit of £7.40. Any other outcome and we’ll lose £0.60. Risking £0.60 to make a profit of £7.40, gives us effective odds of 13.33. So, given that Oh This Is Us is odds of just 2.75 (7/4) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
