Money Back Special (16:10 Curragh) – Paddy Power

There’s a big day of racing at Curragh today and you don’t want to miss this Money Back Special from Paddy Power! Simply place an each way bet on the 16:10 at Curragh and if Happily wins, Paddy Power will refund the win part of losing each way singles as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £7.24 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bets:

If you’re unsure about how to place qualifying bets, check out my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 09:00 on Monday 21st May 2018 and the start of the race, to be eligible.

For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Happily. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying each way bet on Clemmie (7/1).

We can calculate our lay stakes using the ‘Each Way‘ setting on my each way calculator

So, if Happily wins, we’ll receive a £10.00 free bet, from which we can extract 75% cash, so £7.50. If we take into account our minimum qualifying loss of £0.26, that gives us a potential profit of £7.24.

Risking £0.26 to make a profit of £7.24, gives us effective odds of 28.85. So, given that Happily is odds of just 2.375 (11/8) to win the race, this is a very profitable offer in the long run.

If eligible, free bets will be credited within 2 hours of the race ending and will be valid on horse racing for 7 days.

* Clemmie finished outside the places and Alpha Centauri won the race, resulting in a loss of £0.27 on this Paddy Power offer. *
