Start Time: 11/07/2019 13:50

The Newmarket July Festival 2019 gets underway on Thursday and you don’t want to miss this Betway Money Back Special! Simply place a bet on the first race each day and if it loses, Betway will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an overall guaranteed profit of £18.00 and here’s how…

Key Terms:

  • Minimum stake of £2.00.
  • Qualifying bets must be placed on the first race at Newmarket each day (11th – 13th July 2019).
  • If our bet loses, Betway will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00.

Qualifying Bets:

This offer is available on the following races at the Newmarket July Festival 2019…

RaceTimeDate
The Bahrain Trophy13:50Thursday 11th July 2019
The bet365 Handicap Stakes13:50Friday 12th July 2019
The Rossdales British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes13:50Saturday 13th July 2019

Losing stakes are refunded as a free bet, so this is effectively a risk-free bet offer.

We’ll need to select horses with long odds in order to maximise our profits.

Having looked at the odds available for The Bahrain Trophy, we could place our qualifying bet on Spanish Mission.

At the time of writing, laying our bet with Smarkets gives us the biggest guaranteed profit.

We can work out our lay stake by using the ‘Risk-Free Bet’ setting on my matched betting calculator. We can enter £8.00 as our ‘Cashback’ figure as this is the amount we can expect to extract (80%) from our £10.00 free bet refund, should our horse lose…

Lay £8.18 on Spanish Mission @ 7.60 = Potential liability of £53.98

Outcomes:

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Spanish Mission wins+£60.00-£53.98£6.02 profit
Spanish Mission doesn't win-£10.00+£8.01+£8.00£6.01 profit

So, regardless of the outcomes and with some good odds, we should make a guaranteed profit of £6.00+ on all three races, giving us an overall guaranteed profit of £18.00 on this Betway offer!

If eligible, free bets will be credited within 24 hours of our qualifying bets being settled and will be valid for 24 hours. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

If you’re unsure how to extract £8.00 cash (80%) from a £10.00 free bet, check out my Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

I’ll update the following table during the festival with suggested bets for all races…

Why would you even lay off this free offers? If your horse wins, you win. If it loses, you get a full £10 free bet. No need for any qualifying losses. Or am I missing something?

If your horse loses Willie, you’re £10.00 down. Once you’ve extracted £8.00 from the £10.00 free bet, you’re left with an overall loss of £2.00.

There’s nothing wrong with doing it that way if you would rather have the shot at a big profit.

As shown in the above post though, by underlaying we can actually lock in around £6.00 profit regardless of the outcome.
