Paddy Power Offer – 14:25 Ripon

Posted by Matt (administrator) Matt
Start Time: 02/06/2015 14:25

The football season may be drawing to a close but the profits don’t end there as proven by these Paddy Power offers!  Simply stake £20.00 on Tuesday’s horse racing in the 14:25 at Ripon race course and get a £10.00 free bet to use on the 14:55 at Ripon.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.00 and here’s how…

Paddy Power Ripon

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

It’s entirely up to you which horse you place your qualifying bet on and you can calculate your lay stake by using the matched betting calculator.

paddypower

Aim to lose no more than £2.00 on your qualifying bet

So we will lose £2.00 in qualifying for our £10.00 free bet.

Free Bet:

Our £10.00 free bet will be credited to our accounts at 14:25.  By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% out of the £10.00 free bet as cash, so £8.00.  If we take into account our qualifying loss of £2.00, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.00!

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £10.00 free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

One thing I’ve noticed that’s worth bearing in mind in relation to these Paddy Power racing offers is that their early prices on the day tend to be rather short compared to other bookies. I’d guess this is a deliverate strategy. I use Oddschecker to compare the odds. Paddy’s prices tend to come more in line with other bookies closer to the off, in the last 15 minutes or so.

They also say best priced guaranteed on their site for uk horses so you can usually see the best odds on oddschecker for that horse and paddys should move to that really

Good point, there odds are still pretty poor though, I’m only managing to make around £4 an offer.

The best way I’ve found, to extract value from it (albeit high-risk if you’re not quick enough) is to wait to a few mins before the race starts. Fluctuations at Betfair/Betdaq precede the changes at Paddy Power, so you can often extract the best value if you get your back/lay in within 10 seconds of each other – managed £8.41 today, and only a £0.67 loss on the qualifier.

Made £8.90 out of this one but that was only because a slight miscalculation of the lay stake and a best odds guaranteed uplift on a winning qualifier with a drifting price gave me an unexpected profit on the qualifier. And then I only got the free bet backed & layed for a reasonable match to extract £7.50ish literally seconds before the off. Otherwise would only have been about a fiver up.

Bonus! Yeah some of them can be a little tricky.

I was congratulating myself for getting an arb on this one (usually I’m way too slow as I’m doing it on my mobile) – which locked in about about 95% of the free bet – only to realise I had 50% underlaid my qualifying bet (i.e. as if it was a 10 pound bet). Of course it lost! Down 2 pounds instead of a healthy profit.

We’ve all done that Andrew so don’t worry. You’ll learn from it.
