Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 and 14:30 (race-off) on Tuesday 19th June 2018, to be eligible.
For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Rhododendron. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Yoshida.
At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.39…
Place £10.00 on Yoshida @ 15.00 = Potential profit of £140.00
Lay £9.39 on Yoshida @ 16.00 = Potential liability of £140.85
Outcomes:
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
| Yoshida wins | + £140.00 – £140.85 = £0.85 loss |
| Rhododendron wins | – £10.00 + £9.20 + £9.00 (extract 90% from our £10.00 free bet) = £8.20 profit |
| Another horse wins | – £10.00 + £9.20 = £0.80 loss |
So, if Rhododendron wins, we’ll make a nice profit of £8.20. Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £0.85. Risking £0.85 to make a profit of £8.20, gives us effective odds of 10.65. So, given that Rhododendron is odds of just 4.00 (3/1) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
If eligible, free bets will be credited by 12:00 on Wednesday 20th June 2018 and will be valid on horse racing and greyhound racing markets for 30 days. Free bets must be wagered once at odds of 2.00 (evens) or greater, before any subsequent winnings can be withdrawn.
