Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £6.92 and here’s how…
Key Terms:
- We must place a single bet of £10.00+ or £10.00 each way on the Coronation Stakes.
- Our bet must be placed between 16:20 on Thursday 20th June 2019 and 16:20 (race-off) on Friday 21st June 2019.

For our qualifying bet, we need to back and lay any horse other than Hermosa. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Castle Lady.
At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

Place £10.00 on Castle Lady @ 8.00 = Potential profit of £70.00
Lay £9.11 on Castle Lady @ 8.80 = Potential liability of £71.05

So, if Hermosa wins, we’ll make a nice profit of £6.92! Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £1.08. Risking £1.08 to make a profit of £6.92, gives us effective odds of 7.41. So, given that Hermosa is odds of just 2.00 (evens) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
