There’s a big Saturday afternoon of Horse Racing to look forward to and you don’t want to miss this William Hill Scratch of the Day offer! Place a £10.00 bet on any Horse Racing market contested on Saturday and William Hill will give us a £5.00 free bet to use on Horse Racing. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £3.50 and here’s how…
Key Terms:
- We must scratch on the Promotion page to reveal the offer.
- We must click ‘Claim here‘ once the offer has been revealed.
- We must bet £10.00 on any Horse Racing market between 00:01 and 23:59 on Saturday 20th April 2019.
- Qualifying bet must be placed at odds of 1.20 (1/5) or greater.
Qualifying Bet:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
A quick look at the OddsMonkey Oddsmatcher tool will give us an idea on what to place our qualifying bet on.
We can place our lay bet at Betfair or Smarkets.
We can calculate our lay stakes using my matched betting calculator.
Free Bet:
Our £5.00 free bet will be credited upon placement of our qualifying bet and will be valid for 4 days on any Horse Racing Race Winner selection. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.
By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% cash from our £5.00 free bet, so £4.00. If we take into account our qualifying loss of £0.50, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £3.50 on this William Hill offer!

1Hi matt again haha this does this look right to you that lay bet bet side is still confusing me
so if i take the scratch offer bet 10 get 5 on horse racing id do this
WH Electric Ladyland @10/11
1:25 Kempton – Win £10 To return: £ 19.09
SMARKETS
£10 AGAINST ELECTRIC LADYLAND
RETURN £21.60 LIABILITY £11.60
so if it wins i lose overall £0.91 and get a free £5 bet and if it loses i get overall £1.60 profit and a free bet is this correct??
many thanks
haha then id bet the same with the free bet but only use £5 to lay as well is that correct
Matt
1486Based on the figures you’ve provided, your qualifying loss would be £2.51 if your horse won and £0.20 if it didn’t win.
Are you using the calculator to calculate your lay stakes? It’s not quite as simple as laying £10.00 when staking £10.00 and laying £5.00 when staking £5.00…

Guest userAlso you wouldn’t want to put a free bet on at evens odds, you always need long odds for free bets as stake not returned.
