Paddy Power Offer – Mayweather v Pacquiao

It’s time for another fantastic Paddy Power offer!  Simply place a single bet of £20.00 or more pre-fight on Floyd Mayweather Jr v Manny Pacquiao and Paddy Power will give us £10.00 in free bets to be used in-play.  Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.88 and here’s how…

Paddy Power Mayweather v Pacquiao

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on, as long as you place it at minimum odds of 1.20 (1/5) or above.  Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Mayweather and we can calculate our lay stake by using the matched betting calculator.

paddypower

Place £20.00 on Mayweather @ 1.57 = Potential profit of £11.40

betfair

Lay £19.87 on Mayweather @ 1.63 = Potential liability of £12.52

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the following outcomes…

Mayweather wins+£11.40 – £12.52 = £1.12 loss
Mayweather doesn't win-£20.00 + £18.88 = £1.12 loss

So regardless of the result of the fight, we will lose £1.12 in qualifying for our 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets.

Free Bet:

It’s impossible to know what odds will be available until the fight has started but by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% out of the 2 x £5.00 free bets as cash, so £8.00.  If we take into account our qualifying loss of £1.12, this gives us a guaranteed profit of £6.88!

My advice is to wait until the end of a round to place your free bet and then lay it at the betting exchange.  This is simply because the odds don’t fluctuate as much as during the rounds.  There’s nothing worse than placing your free bet on a market and then something happens in the fight that changes the odds before you have chance to get your lay bet on!

If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the 2 x £5.00 in-play free bets, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.

Nice offer but not so nice to have to wake up so early. How long does a fight last?

I agree John, there will be a few giving this one a miss. There are 12 rounds of 3 minutes scheduled but it could end at any time.

It does seem that there is no guarantee that we will get the free bet, since the terms say that it is credited within 10 minutes of the start of the event, but the event might be finished by then!

Indeed, though I’m sure they would sort us out with a free bet if that were the case.

Good way of looking at it Mikey. It was all very predictable in the end.
