188BET Offer – Huddersfield Giants v Salford Red Devils

Huddersfield Giants host Salford Red Devils tonight and you don’t want to miss this 188BET offer! If Jermaine McGillvary scores a try in Huddersfield Giants v Salford Red Devils, 188BET will refund losing bets on ALL pre-match markets as a free bet, up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £21.93 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

As with all player-specific promotions, it’s a good idea to wait until the starting line-ups have been announced, before placing our qualifying bets.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 on Wednesday 15th February 2017 and 20:00 (kick-off) on Thursday 16th February 2017, to be eligible.

It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on. Jermaine McGillvary plays for the favourites, Huddersfield Giants so I’ll be looking to get my qualifying bet on Salford Red Devils. At the time of writing, the lay odds are pretty poor but they should tighten up closer to kick-off. In the meantime, I’ll used fictional odds in the following example and I’ll update the post with my actual odds after the match.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Place £25.00 on Salford Red Devils @ 2.82 = Potential profit of £45.50

smarkets whiteLay £23.66 on Salford Red Devils @ 3.00 = Potential liability of £47.32

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Salford win + £45.50 – £47.32 = £1.82 loss
Salford don’t win and McGillvary scores a try – £25.00 + £23.18 + £23.75 (extract 95% from our £25.00 stake refund) = £21.93 profit
Salford don’t win and McGillvary doesn’t score a try – £25.00 + £23.18 = £1.82 loss

So, if Salford Red Devils don’t win and Jermaine McGillvary scores a try, we’ll make a nice profit of £21.93. Any other outcome and we’ll have made a loss of £1.82. Risking £1.82 to make a profit of £21.93, gives us effective odds of 13.05, so given that the odds of McGillvary scoring a try are only 1.667, this is a profitable offer in the long run even though we need Salford not to win.

Stake refunds just need rolling over once at minimum odds of 1.90 or greater before we are able to withdraw. The above calculations are therefore based on the assumption that, by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 95% cash from our £25.00 stake refund.

To claim our stake refund, we must email the promotion code ‘JMG25’, our bet ID number and our 188BET member code to promo@188bet.co.uk using our registered email address by 23:59 (GMT) on Friday 17th February 2017. Free bets will be credited within 48 hours of a successful claim being submitted.

* With Salford Red Devils having back odds of 2.80 and lay odds of 3.30, I decided to keep my qualifying loss to a minimum by placing my qualifying bet on Huddersfield Giants at back odds of 1.45 and lay odds of 1.53. Salford Red Devils won the match and Jermaine McGillvary scored a try, meaning I made a profit of £22.28 on this 188BET offer. *
