It’s the deciding test of the Lions Tour on Saturday morning and you don’t want to miss this Coral offer. Simply place a £5.00+ win single on the 80 minute Match Betting market for New Zealand v British & Irish Lions and if any forward scores the first try, Coral will double our winnings up to £50.00, in free bets! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £38.30 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.
Qualifying bets must be placed between 18:00 on Thursday 6th July 2017 and 08:35 (kick-off) on Saturday 8th July 2017, to be eligible.
To qualify, we must place a £5.00+ Single bet on the 80 minute Match Betting (Win-Tie-Win) market. If a forward scores the first try, Coral will double our winnings in free bets, up to a maximum of £50.00. If eligible, free bets will be credited within 24 hours of our bet being settled and will be valid for 4 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.
It’s entirely up to you which team you go for. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on the British & Irish Lions.
In order to work out our back stake, we need to divide £50.00 by 3.50 (back odds minus 1.00). This gives us a back stake of £14.29. It’s best that we stick to round numbers when placing our qualifying bet, so I’m going to stake £15.00 instead.
I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.
We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £13.55…
Place £15.00 on the Lions @ 4.50 = Potential profit of £52.50
Lay £13.55 on the Lions @ 5.00 = Potential liability of £54.20
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Lions win the match and a forward doesn’t score the first try | + £52.50 – £54.20 = £1.70 loss |
Lions win the match and a forward scores the first try | + £52.50 – £54.20 + £40.00 (80% extracted from £50.00 free bet) = £38.30 profit |
Lions don’t win the match | – £15.00 + £13.27 = £1.73 loss |
So, if the Lions win the match and a forward scores the first try, we’ll make a nice profit of £38.30. Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £1.73. Risking £1.73 to make a profit of £38.30, gives us effective odds of 23.14, which I’m sure you’ll agree makes this a profitable offer in the long run.
