Ladbrokes Offer – Hull FC v Wigan Warriors

The Challenge Cup Final 2017 takes place at Wembley on Saturday and you don’t want to miss this Ladbrokes offer. Simply bet £5.00+ on Hull FC or Wigan Warriors to win and if any forward scores the first try, Ladbrokes will double our winnings up to £50.00, in free bets! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £32.77 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 06:00 on Friday 25th August 2017 and 15:00 (kick-off) on Saturday 26th August 2017, to be eligible.

To qualify, we must place a £5.00+ Single bet on Hull FC or Wigan Warriors to win in the Match Betting market. If a forward scores the first try, Ladbrokes will double our winnings in free bets, up to a maximum of £50.00. If eligible, free bets will be credited within 24 hours of our bet being settled and will be valid for 4 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Wigan Warriors.

In order to work out our back stake, we need to divide £50.00 by 0.90 (back odds minus 1.00). This gives us a back stake of £55.56. It’s best that we stick to round numbers when placing our qualifying bet, so I’m going to stake £50.00 instead.

At the time of writing, Smarkets do not yet have this match listed, so we’ll need to place our lay bet on the Betfair Exchange.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £49.22…

Ladbrokes logo

Place £50.00 on Wigan Warriors @ 1.90 = Potential profit of £45.00

Betfair logo

Lay £49.22 on Wigan Warriors @ 1.98 = Potential liability of £48.23

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Wigan Warriors win and a forward doesn’t score the first try + £45.00 – £48.23 = £3.23 loss
Wigan Warriors win and a forward scores the first try + £45.00 – £48.23 + £36.00 (80% extracted from £45.00 free bet) = £32.77 profit
Wigan Warriors don’t win – £50.00 + £46.75 = £3.25 loss

So, if Wigan Warriors win and a forward scores the first try, we’ll make a nice profit of £32.77. Any other outcome and we’ll lose a maximum of £3.25. Risking £3.25 to make a profit of £32.77, gives us effective odds of 11.08, which I’m sure you’ll agree makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

* Hull FC won the match 18-14 with Wigan forward, John Bateman, scoring the first try, meaning I made a loss of £3.25 on this Ladbrokes offer. *
