Scotland v Ireland Offer – Coral

It’s Scotland v Ireland in the Six Nations on Saturday and Coral are getting in on the action. Simply bet £10.00+ on Scotland or Ireland to win and Coral will give us a £5.00 free bet for every try they score in the match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £15.40 and here’s how…

Key Terms:

  • Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 on Friday 8th February 2019 and 14:15 (kick-off) on Saturday 9th February 2019.
  • We must bet £10.00+ on Scotland or Ireland in the Match Betting market.
  • £5.00 free bet for every try our selected team scores in the match, up to a maximum total of £20.00.

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

It’s entirely up to you which team you go for. Having looked at the odds available, we could place our qualifying bet on Ireland.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Smarkets gives us the smallest qualifying loss.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Back Bet (Bookie)

Lay Bet (Betting Exchange)

Min £
Max £
Lay stake required: £
If back (bookie) bet wins
= £
If lay (exchange) bet wins
= £

Total profit: £

Optimal Underlay

Lay stake required: £

If back (bookie) bet wins: £
If lay (exchange) bet wins: £

Optimal Overlay

Lay stake required: £
Exchange liability: £

If back (bookie) bet wins: £
If lay (exchange) bet wins: £

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £9.59…

Coral logo

Place £10.00 on Ireland @ 1.40 = Potential profit of £4.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £9.59 on Ireland @ 1.48 = Potential liability of £4.60

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Outcome Bookie Exchange Profit/Loss
Ireland win +£4.00 -£4.60 £0.60 loss
Ireland don't win -£10.00 +£9.39 £0.61 loss

So, regardless of the outcome, we’ll lose a maximum of £0.61 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every try Ireland score in the match, we’ll receive a £5.00 free bet within 24 hours of the final whistle, up to a maximum total of £20.00. Free bets will be valid for 7 days and free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

If Ireland score four tries or more, we’ll receive £20.00 in free bets.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% cash from our £20.00 in free bets, so £16.00. If we take into account our minimum qualifying loss of £0.60, this gives us a potential profit of £15.40 on this Coral offer!

* Ireland scored 3 tries and won the match 22-13, resulting in a profit of £11.40 on this Coral offer. *

thanks, is this a sign i’m on the way to a gubbing?

        1. Matt

Not necessarily Thomas. Just see what the next one brings.

When I login to coral I cant see this bet advertised anywhere. Does this mean that they are only offering to certain customers? Or will it show up after the Friday events are over? Don’t want to get stung is all.

    1. Matt

I can’t actually see it on the app at the moment but it’s showing on their desktop Promotions page Jonathan. Have you tried clearing your cache? The offer should be available to all customers, provided you’ve not been gubbed previously.

      1. Jonathan M

Is it a coral connect card promotion? It’s not on my desktop site either

        1. Matt

No mate. ‘This Sports Promotion is open to Online, Mobile & Telephone real money customers.’
