Six Nations 2019 Offer – William Hill

The Six Nations 2019 gets underway on Friday night and you don’t want to miss this William Hill offer. Simply bet £20.00 on the Six Nations Top Try Scorer and William Hill will give us a £5.00 free bet every time they score a try! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £24.63 and here’s how…

Key Terms:

  • Minimum stake of £20.00 Win or £10.00 Each Way or greater.
  • Qualifying bet must be placed on the ‘Six Nations 2019 – Top Try Scorer‘ market.
  • Qualifying bets must be placed between 09:00 on Monday 21st January 2019 and 20:00 on Friday 1st February 2019.

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

It’s entirely up to you which player you place your qualifying bet on. At the time of writing, the back and lay odds aren’t close enough, so I’ll use fictional lay odds for Jacob Stockdale (10/3) in the following example and I’ll update the bottom of the post with an actual selection, once the Championship has started.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Betfair is likely to give us the smallest qualifying loss.

Just bear in mind that our exchange funds will be tied up until the end of the Championship on Saturday 16th March 2019. The alternative is to not lay our bet and just let the qualifying bet run. Jacob Stockdale should score enough tries to cover some of the £20.00 stake and we could win big if he goes on to be top try scorer.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £17.51…

William Hill logo

Place £20.00 on Jacob Stockdale @ 4.333 = Potential profit of £66.67

Betfair logo

Lay £17.51 on Jacob Stockdale @ 5.00 = Potential liability of £70.04

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Outcome Bookie Exchange Profit/Loss
Stockdale top scores +£66.67 -£70.04 £3.37 loss
Stockdale doesn’t top score -£20.00 +£16.63 £3.37 loss

So, regardless of who finishes top try scorer, we’ll lose £3.37 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

For every try that Jacob Stockdale scores, we’ll receive a £5.00 free bet by 12:00 the following day. Free bets will be valid on any sport for 4 days and free bet stakes are excluded from any winnings.

Jacob Stockdale plays for Ireland and if he can match his top scoring haul of 7 tries in the 2018 Championship, we’ll receive £35.00 in free bets.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% cash from our £35.00 in free bets, so £28.00. If we take our qualifying loss of £3.37 into account, that gives us a potential profit of £24.63 on this William Hill offer!

* The back and lay odds failed to tighten up sufficiently, so it was best to place our qualifying bet on Jacob Stockdale and let it run without laying. Jacob Stockdale scored 2 tries during the Championship and Jonny May finished top scorer with 6, resulting in a loss of £12.00 on this William Hill offer. **
