Andy Murray goes for gold in the Rio 2016 Men’s Tennis Final tonight and you don’t want to miss this 188BET offer! Place a bet on Juan Martin Del Potro v Andy Murray and if our selection wins 23 or more games but loses the match, 188BET will refund losing bets as a free bet, up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £21.61 and here’s how…

188BET Offer - Men's Tennis Final Rio 2016

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

Qualifying bets must be placed between 00:01 and 21:00 today (Sunday 14th August 2016), to be eligible.

Only bets placed on Match Winner and Correct Score in Sets pre-match markets will be eligible. It’s entirely up to you what you place your qualifying bet on, but having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on Andy Murray in the Match Winner market.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can calculate our lay stake using my matched betting calculator…

Back Bet (Bookie)

Lay Bet (Betting Exchange)

Min £
Max £
Lay stake required: £
If back (bookie) bet wins
= £
If lay (exchange) bet wins
= £

Total profit: £

Optimal Underlay

Lay stake required: £
Exchange liability: £

If back (bookie) bet wins: £
If lay (exchange) bet wins: £

Optimal Overlay

Lay stake required: £
Exchange liability: £

If back (bookie) bet wins: £
If lay (exchange) bet wins: £

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £24.60…

Place £25.00 on Murray @ 1.23 = Potential profit of £5.75

smarkets whiteLay £24.60 on Murray @ 1.27 = Potential liability of £6.64

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

Murray wins + £5.75 – £6.64 = £0.89 loss
Murray doesn't win the match but wins 23+ games - £25.00 + £24.11 + £22.50 (extract 90% from our £25.00 stake refund) = £21.61 profit
Murray doesn't win the match and wins less than 23 games - £25.00 + £24.11 = £0.89 loss

So, if Andy Murray doesn’t win the match but wins 23+ games, we will make a nice profit of £21.61. If Andy Murray wins the match or wins less than 23 games, we’ll have made a loss of £0.89. Risking £0.89 to make a profit of £21.61, gives us effective odds of 24.28, which I’m sure you’ll agree, makes this a profitable offer in the long run.

Stake refunds just need rolling over twice at minimum odds of 1.90 or greater before we are able to withdraw. The above calculations are therefore based on the assumption that, by using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 90% cash from our £25.00 stake refund.

To claim our stake refund, we must email the promotion code ‘OMGOLD25’, our bet ID number and our 188BET member code to promo@188service.com using our registered email address by 23:59 (GMT) on Monday 15th August 2016. Free bets will be credited within 72 hours of a successful claim being submitted.

I`m a bit confused here. The game is best of 3 with a tiebreak in the final set. So if every set went to a tiebreak and delpotro won the result would be 7-6 6-7 7-6 meaning the max games andy could win and still lose would be 19. How can he get 23 and still lose?

    1. Jingjing

5 sets will be played in the final so it makes sense

  2. RyanB

    The final is 5 sets.

    Thanks Ryan

Think Andy will have this one so would go for Del QL-£2.

Can’t find the promo on the website after clicking your link either?

    1. Matt

Not sure why that was Luke as it was definitely available.

Shame about not getting the free bet, but Murray won gold!

Very odd thing happened, I logged in to 188bet expecting to see a balance of 30.75 (25 x 1.23),and instead my balance was just over 35 quid! Absolutely no idea why, looked at the betting history etc and by all accounts it should only be 30.75, had no money in it beforehand. Very bizarre! Even more bizarrely, I just requested a withdrawal of 35 quid (can’t withdraw pennies from them) and it was approved!
