A nice little Betfred in play offer. Place an in-play bet of £10.00 or more (at odds of 1/2 or greater) on any Andy Murray match of the Australian Open 2015 and if it loses, Betfred will give us a £10.00 free bet the next day! Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £6.23 and here’s how…
Qualifying Bet:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how to place your qualifying bets.
We need our qualifying bet to lose, so that we are eligible for the free bet refund. With this in mind, it makes sense to bet on a market that is less likely to win, such as one with longer odds. We won’t know what odds are available until the match gets underway, but here is an example of how we might place our qualifying bet.
Place £10.00 on 3-1 Berdych @ 5.50 = Potential profit of £45.00
Lay £8.66 on 3-1 Berdych @ 6.40 = Potential liability of £46.76
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…
Berdych wins 3-1 | +£45.00 – £46.76 = £1.76 loss |
Berdych doesn’t win 3-1 | -£10.00 + £8.23 + £8.00 (80% of £10.00 free bet) = £6.23 profit |
So if Tomas Berdych wins 3-1, we would make a small loss of £1.76. If he doesn’t win 3-1, we will make a nice profit of £6.23 on this offer.
If you’re not sure how to extract 80% of the £10.00 free bet, please see my Free Bet Strategy page for a walkthrough guide on how it should be done.
