Betfred US Open Offer | Bet 3 Get 1 Free

The US Open 2015 is in full swing and that sees the return of Betfred’s ‘Bet 3, Get 1 Free’ in-play offer. Simply place an in-play bet on 3 or more US Open tennis matches on the same tournament day of play (at minimum odds of 1.50) and Betfred will give us a free bet to our average stake up to a maximum of £25.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed daily profit of £14.00 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

To qualify for the £25.00 free bet, we must place an in-play bet on 3 or more US Open tennis matches on the same tournament day of play at minimum odds of 1.50 (1/2). Matches that continue beyond midnight will still qualify for that day’s offer. It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bets on.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges. We can calculate our lay stakes using the matched betting calculator.

Aim to lose no more than £2.00 on each of our 3 qualifying bets

So we will lose approximately £6.00 on our qualifying bets in order to claim our £25.00 free bet.

Free Bet:

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bet as cash, so around £20.00. If we take into consideration our daily qualifying loss of £6.00, this gives us a guaranteed daily profit of £14.00! It’s unknown at the moment how many days this offer will run for so I will update the profit figure once the offer has ended.

I believe there isn’t a restriction on how many days you can use this promotion in their T&Cs so, does it mean we can use it for multiple days

Also on betfred they have a bet on 3 and get 1 free offer on the Sheffield Greyhounds tonight. I have also seen on Paddy power that you get money back as a free bet if your dog wins at 2/1 or greater!

Hi there,

I joined Betfred yesterday – in order to exploit their offer on tennis, as well as their sign up offer.

Now they state 48 hours so I’m unperturbed but they are yet to credit my account with the £30 free bets for joining.

Moreover, and the reason for my comment here…they successfully allowed me to place *two* in-play bets on today’s US Open tennis – with zero hiccup. Subsequent to this, however, I have now had in the region of 20-25 attempts – across two different in-play matches – at placing a third bet with them (to qualify for the free bet). They have ‘processed’ every one; and every one has come back with ‘selection not available for betting’ message.

As explained, I’ve split them across different matches, across about an hour and a half’s time *and* I’ve logged in and out more than once.

Beginning to smell a rat here…

Ok; ridiculous! No sooner do I air my potential grievance here…another login and attempt later…Vinci matches at 8/15 and we’re off. (Literally maybe 10th time I’d tried on that match; having given up on getting it on on Fish – Lopez) Now I merely await the award of the freebie tomorrow…

I had the same issues Alex, especially in play on tennis the odds fluctuate very quickly. I use the in-play rather than watch live

It was a really interesting evening Matt. They had the offers on betfred and Totesport and as they are basically one big company I was able to get my 3 qualifying bets on. You have to use betfair as there isn’t enough liquidity in Smarkets. I logged in at 7:30 and managed to do the next race and the one after and then the big race of the night which had enough liquidity in them. If you can’t do it early doors then you have to get them on in the last 3 minutes before the off and if you aren’t quick with the numbers it can be risky. I was using Ipad and IPhone to do it simultaneously and at times its better to go for the exchange first because more often or not greyhounds will drift. I always normally do it the other way round but in this situation if it does drift you can still bet on the site to get the token.

Anyway I managed to use the PP offer of 2/1 at the same time and the way to do it is if you back a 4/1 (5) for 25 your liability is 100. If you lay up to 9/2 (5.5) you can overlay for £26.30 so if it loses your even and if it wins you make an £18.75 loss but you will get the £25 token. So I was doing this method on any dogs that were within 10% and could find a match on each race and was just under a tenner up.

Bet 365 also ran the same promotion but you had to back the next race and I was doing 50 a race on certain races. I managed to pick one winner out but lost on the next race so was around 30 up on that. This has tempted me to have a go on the 4/1 offers on Saturday horse racing but quite often I am either playing or watching Football so can’t get on them so these current offers are better.

Apologies for the lengthy post Matt but in short I would say it’s very similar to Tennis in the fact there are opportunities out there to make profit but you have to be patient and extremely quick when the chance comes along.

  Don’t apologies mate, I appreciate the feedback. Sounds like the Bet365 offer was worth doing but maybe the others not so much. Definitely worth having a crack at the Saturday stuff. I need to start getting those on the blog regular.

Hi Matt, I was curious as to what you thought of the losing by a length racing the other day and had another query for you. I’ve had an email from sportingbet who will match the stake of your first bet pre match if England score in the first 15 minutes against San Marino. This seems a no brainer but I was tempted to bet and lay in that game losing about £2 then using the free bet to extract about £20. Vernons have also sent me an email saying if I bet £50 on a tennis game and my bet loses in a 5th set decider I’ll get a free bet. Would you recommend this type of betting? Basically losing a small amount to maximise the free bet BUT not having a guarantee after it

    Ive done the sportingbet one this evening. Most of the odds were really low for england and really high for san marino but I found under/over 4.5 goals market was good. Under 4.5 goals bet at 2.6 and laid for 2.9.
    
    Also the freebet must be used in the England Switzerland game

I’m assuming this offer becomes impossible to play when you get to the semifinals/finals, as it says you have to place in-play bets in 3 matches, and they are down to two matches a day by that point. Or do they allow 3 bets on the same match on finals day for instance? (For those who did the offer during Wimbledon).
