  I’d recommend using an automatcher John. You can use the filter to find just tennis matches and minimise your qualifying loss.

Is it just me or is in-play tennis a nightmare to back and lay whilst returning decent profits. I backed and laid the pre match bet and lost £0.63p. With my free bet I got sick after about 30 minutes and backed and laid returning £5, net profit £4.37, not ideal but not as easy as the footie.

Anybody any tips ?

  It seems a few people are struggling in play on this one Jon. I guess the best opportunity might be to get it on at the end of a set. Bit of luck involved with backing and laying this one then.

Definitely wait until the end of a set. Stupidly put mine on the last game backing the loser at 8 hoping she could take her service game and the odds at betfair will drop.
You can guess what happened, still its all a learning curve and with the French Open and Wimbledon on the horizon im sure there will be more opportunities.

HI Matt not attempted this 1 yet but noticed winner and unibet both have offers on for French open. Winner is £10 refund bet if u back nadal & he doesn’t win. Unibet is £30 refund if Sharapova wins. Should I do the unibet 1 similar to the sky horse racing. Back/lay then cover loss by laying on Sharapova. (No pun intended)

    Lay odds on her are rubbish, but I got an ARB on my qualifier, think it may be a mistake though. got simona halep at 9 on unibet and 6 on betfair. so i stand to make about £14 no matter what but I’m half expecting an email to say it was a mistake. Betsafe also got a tennis offer on.

Looks like it was too good to be true, turns out I’ve bet on Halep to win Wimbledon! Ha. Think it was a website error tho, waiting to hear back from unibet. My lay bet on Halep is still open tho and I thought I could use it to make a little profit. If I bet £30 on her 2 win a match I would make a small profit if she wins but if she loses my lay bet would pay out as she obviously won’t win the tournament. My lay stake is £45 so I would get about £43 as soon as she loses. (-£30+£43=£13 profit) I could do this for each match she progresses through &imagine the further she goes each game would be harder so her odds should increase. Meaning I make a bit more from each match. I could then cash out at betfair b4 the final. any reason this wouldn’t work?

  Hi Terry, you currently stand to lose over £200 if Halep wins the tournament. If Halep gets to the final, her odds of winning are going to be pretty short so you will make a big loss on cashing out. This loss will wipe out any profits you’ve made on the way to the final. I’d recommend you cash out now and put it down as a learning curve.

    Thanks Matt, I’ll probably do that then. Is my lay stake the maximum the cashout can be? cashout just now is less than £1 & unibet are going to let me cancel the other bet.
