Ladbrokes Offer – Cilic v Federer

It’s the Men’s Final at Wimbledon today and Ladbrokes are getting in on the action! Simply place a Set 1 Correct Score bet on Marin Cilic v Roger Federer and if it loses, Ladbrokes will refund our stake as a free bet, up to a maximum of £10.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £90.00 and here’s how…

Qualifying bets must be placed between 18:00 on Saturday 15th July 2017 and 14:00 (start time) on Sunday 16th July 2017, to be eligible.

Losing stakes are refunded as a free bet, so ordinarily we would treat this as a risk-free offer. Unfortunately though, the Set 1 Correct Score market is a little obscure and so the liquidity tends to be lacking.

I’ve therefore decided to treat this as a speculative offer. We can just place our qualifying bet on a selection of our choice and let it run as a value bet without laying. If our back bet wins, we’ll have made a nice profit, otherwise we can just extract 80% from our £10.00 free bet refund and take a £2.00 loss.

Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on 6-4 to Marin Cilic.

So, if Marin Cilic wins the first set 6-4, we’ll have made a nice profit of £90.00. Any other outcome and we’ll have made a loss of £2.00. Risking £2.00 to make a profit of £90.00 gives us effective odds of 46.00, so given that Marin Cilic is odds of 10.00 to win the first set 6-4, this is a very profitable offer in the long run.

If our selection loses, our free bet will be credited within 24 hours and will be valid for 7 days.
