Sun Bets Offer – US Open 2017 Men’s Final

The US Open 2017 Men’s Singles Final takes place tonight and Sun Bets are getting in on the action! Bet £20.00 on Rafael Nadal or Kevin Anderson to win and Sun Bets will give us a £1.00 free bet for every ace served by either player during the match. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a potential profit of £17.24 and here’s how…

Qualifying Bet:

If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how they should be done.

In addition to each £1.00 free bet, Sun Bets will also credit us with 1 free spin to use on selected slots in the casino.

It’s entirely up to you who you place your qualifying bet on. Rafael Nadal is the clear favourite to win the match at odds of just 1.111 (1/9). My preference would be to place our qualifying bet on Kevin Anderson as betting on Nadal at such short odds may arouse suspicion.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

We can work out our lay stake by entering our odds into my matched betting calculator…

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £17.62…

Sun Bets logo

Place £20.00 on Kevin Anderson @ 6.50 = Potential profit of £110.00

Smarkets logo

Lay £17.62 on Kevin Anderson @ 7.40 = Potential liability of £112.76

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the two outcomes…

Anderson wins + £110.00 – £112.76 = £2.76 loss
Anderson doesn’t win – £20.00 + £17.26 (£17.62 minus 2% commission) = £2.74 loss

So, regardless of who wins the match, we’ll lose a maximum of £2.76 in qualifying for our potential free bets.

Free Bets:

We’ll receive a £1.00 free bet for every ace that is served by either player during the match. The maximum amount of free bets we can receive is £25.00, which is very likely if Anderson can maintain his average of 19 aces per match and Nadal chips in with a few of his own.

Free bets will be credited within 48 hours and will be valid for 30 days. Free bet stakes are not included in any returns.

By using straightforward matched betting, we should be able to extract 80% of our £25.00 free bet as cash, so £20.00. If we take into account our maximum qualifying loss of £2.76, this gives us a potential profit of £17.24 on this Sun Bets offer!

* 11 aces were served during the match which was won by Rafael Nadal, meaning I made a profit of £6.06 on this Sun Bets offer. *
