New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Scabadab. Is it straight money back 2nd? Or money back 2nd to SP.
That’s an excellent offer. You have the right idea – I think that any horse 3/1 and under will come second often enough to make this worthwhile (historically about 20% of the time horses 3/1 and under finishes 2nd). You can also look for races with smaller fields to increase chance.
Are you in UK or Ireland?
A couple of years ago paddy did these online for a full meeting every day of November 2015, it was before my match betting days and it was my most profitable month ever (bar I think the following Cheltenham 2016 where I still had then a lot of accounts and fully into matched betting practices). But that November on Paddy I punted (I hadn’t heard of match betting so I punted but had done analysis on results that I would get a free bet about 20% of bets) every single horse 3/1 and under. I came out with €2000+ profit that month. They had a lot of value boosts that same month and I did quite well off BOG and maybe got some luck to hit those figures. The golden days.
+0Hey blog. Its a great offer in shop. Its €20 max mb2 to anything not just favs! I get about 4 races sometimes sneaking 2 on in same race- and bet beetween 15-25 on each(just to mix it up a bit!) And hit 5-6 shops during the bog window of 11-1pm
Im from uk but currently staying in eire. Im out n about atm cause although snow has hit hard(not where I am!) Limerick is still on and pp are doing the mb2s there today. Its bloody cold out low!
+0With the betting in the bookies do you just ask for them to put the price on the slip?
+016:35 Limerick promising.
Fav drifting so a bit of value on a few.
8 runners so a bit of a gamble.
+0scabadab it’s bog all day in Ireland. U cud also 20@6/4 no.3 3.40 lingfield instead of putting the horses name on it. They pay out on it
+0Scabadab do Paddy’s in London or England do 20 it 10 on same offers

20 or 10
+0Just had time to fully read your post. Cheers for that info mate. Sounds like a lovely month you had there!
Hope this pp offer is also on near you/uk
Cheers
+0Antisocial u take the price on the screen u don’t need cashier assistance
+0Yeah the Limerick race looks good. Taken Sir Bob 25s and Hidden Charmer 28s.
+0Took hidden charmer 26.0 and Hugo & taz 17.0.
Just small stakes. With the weather and alll and 8 runners very risky..
+0MAKe sure the price IS on the slip, either you write it or get them to write it. Don’t think it matters who. But if you don’t have the price then they will pay you SP. happened me once, missed out on about 100 profit.
+0I knew a few people got on Sir Bob when the £25 chunks appeared on the exchanges at 25.0
Is it not best to hold off on a developing market?
I already had a wee bit nibbled at 23.0 but the price has been pushed out now.
+0Fog – u know anything about machine learning? Not sure how technical you are
I know the basic principles and know it could help with betting, but wouldn’t know where to start and also not sure i wouldn’t be making a worse version of what someone’s already using even if I did!
+0Don’t know if i know anything about machine learning. I don’t know where I would apply it to betting. I think there is probably a lot of low hanging fruit to pick before getting that technical. Just with an automated way of comparing bookie and exchange, or an automated way of listing bad ew races should be good. I know oddsmonkey does it more or less, but it doesn’t stop me making a worse version for myself!
In work, or whatever, if I find myself doing the same thing over and over again, day after day, I’ll usually automate it with some kind of script. That’s about as technical as I get. Especially on the likes of restricted accounts the time spent monitoring odds is not giving a good return on time invested, but if you can reduce time invested then these accounts might be worth while again.
