bet365 4/1 offer when each way?
-
Hi,
Just wondered if any of you have experience in betting on each ways when trying to go for their 4/1 offer?
Asking cuz my max win stake is heavily limited, so i can get a tenner on a 5/1 only. I read elsewhere that ew bets count as the stake for the qualifying, so would be interesting if my rf would be boosted with an ew bet.1) if qualifying bet wins, will both win+place stake count in for the next risk free?
2) if for this next rf race, you do another ew and it places.. will you get the stake back?cheers

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Hi Mannis
I’m also restricted, so here’s what I know:
For a qualifying bet, the total stake including each way counts. So £10 each way on a winning horse means you’ll get £20 risk free on the next race.
But, if you place an each way on the next race and it places, you only get a refund if your winnings are less than your stake. Which is unlikely.
But, if you have a risk free £20 that you can’t place due to staking restrictions, if you place the max allowed they will make up the winnings if it wins.
This means you can calculate your lay bet as if you placed the whole £20, even if you can only place a smaller bet. As long as you place the max stake allowed.
Hope that helps
+0Thanks for your reply MT, thats super helpful!
I happened to win the last race, with 25 as total stake (win+ew), so it was a 4/1.
So for the next one, if I am reading your message right, then I guess I can:1) bet on a horse with closest lay, regardless of odds (as you say, they “make up” the extra winnings).
2) i only need to do win which would count for entire 25; and NOT a new ew again? If I understand this correctly as above, then that basically means that being gubbed at 365 isnt that bad at all. Potential 25 per race (if a 4/1 wins). Which matches betfairs offer of 25 winner free bet, and we dont even need to calculate fb extracting costs at 365. And I find 365’s odds much more generous than betfair, who has suspiciously linked theirs to the exchange somehow…
Cheers,
mannis+0That’s right. If you had 12.50 e/w on the last race and won, then treat the next race as a risk free 25 win only.
The only downside is that if that one also wins, the risk free amount for the following race is limited to the amount you were able to stake, and not the full 25.
When staking the max amount, it’s best to use the ‘max’ option, but this is only available on the desktop view.
+0This is super helpful MT, thanks!
I’m gonna try to hit a really long horse for the risk free and hope it wont win then 🙂
+0I won in the last itv race yesterday.
Does the risk free carry over to next Saturday?
+0Yup it should be. Picked the “definite” winner eh? 😉
Last time I was only informed when they sent me a mail the following Friday. If you are too nervous about it, maybe you can hit up their live chat and ask.
+0Damn I have mistaken this again, wow its confusing. Help please @monkeytennis ?
1. I staked max on win only; 2.78 on a 19/1 shot, for the RF bet.
2. It lost, so I expected to get 25 back (which I had as RF qualifier)
3. Instead I only got that stake back..So basically if I win, it would have been credited as 25 x 20 (the odd)? But if it loses, then you only get 2.78 back? Strange logic.
Even worse, I did not lay for the 25 qualifier, but instead laid for that 2.78. So lost out there (if presuming they would pay out for that 25×20). 🙁

Only just seen this. I would have posted earlier otherwise.
The same thing happened to me. While it’s true that if it wins they will make up the difference if you have a restricted stake and use the “Bet max” button they will only refund the restricted stake rather than the full risk free amount you won with the previous winning bet if the horse doesn’t win. This makes it tricky to extract all the profit from the risk free bet.
I’m restricted too so I don’t do this offer that much anymore. When I do I just lay enough to cover my qualifying losses and let the rest ride. I’ve not had one win yet doing it this way but I’ve only done it a handful of times since being restricted+0
