Duplicate accounts after hiatus

  • I spent a few months matched betting a couple of years ago and went through most of the low hanging welcome offers.

I recently decided to get back into it and just thought I’d see if it’s possible to sign up again to a bookie I already had an account with as I now have a different address, bank card, IP address and ID card all under my name.

To my surprise it worked. I have not signed in to the old account for two years and have no need to use it if the new account is good.

Not that I intend to take advantage of this but would a bookie have any way of linking the accounts if they haven’t already?

If they did notice they surely wouldn’t see it as fraud at least as it’s all technically the same identity right?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

“Not that I intend to take advantage of this”

    Why? Haha.

Id be scared of getting caught up in a large roll over sign up and getting the rug pulled half way through. Apart from that is be hitting everything.

Id kill for a fresh B365 or Skybet even if I for went the welcome offers.

With any of the large “reputable” bookies I’d say the worst that can happen is they don’t credit a free bet.

Yes they can link as you didn’t change dob or name
Yes they can take action as their t&c prevent this

That’s not to say I haven’t done it (and am about to post something on this) but it’s not as simple as you might think. You’ll probably find results vary – don’t even try boylesports or bet victor as you’ll just compromise the accounts you have. But try mcbookie instead victor ( diff username) and if you’re lucky they MAY not match you up

PS no you won’t be done for fraud.

There was a news article posted on here where a woman (who was suspected of placing bets on behalf of a large syndicate) won several hundred thousand £ on bad EW multiples. Multi accounting and placing bets for other people rules were all broken. The bookie had a huge legal fight just to with hold winnings never mind do her for fraud.

Sorry if your interested I can’t remember what happened in the end can probably find it in Google.

I did the exact same thing about a year ago. The only bookie that noticed was Boyle sports who just updated my details

Just to clarify – the two accounts are not going to be used at the same time. The old one will not be used ever again so what would cause them to link the accounts if they didn’t on sign up? They wouldn’t be getting any new info that would cause them to link them right?

Not everything is automated at sign up

Boylesports obviously cross reference dob as you’ve got 2 accounts of this now

Victor run regular credit checks so have your full history when that comes through. Ladbrokes also run credit checks but if you’re first one is old you may slip through.

Others link for sure but are less strict. Sky for example made me jump through all sorts of kyc hoops then put restrictions on my new account from bet 1

Lewdy so you’ve never heard of anyone being charged with anything?

I guess if you were caught with another account that was in your name, with the old one being a few years old, you could plausibly deny any mal intent by saying you forgot you had an account in the first place. Idk

I have had 9 or 10 accounts at Ladbrokes over the years for various reasons and never had a problem other than getting them closed or merged… I probably still have a couple of dormant accounts that I no longer know the login details and do not have access to the email address connected to the account. I’m pretty sure I haven’t broken any laws in doing so.
