Leaving Money in accounts and other questions

  • Hi,

First things first, well done to a nice website – nicely laid out and easy to follow and the clientele seem to be pretty friendly to newbies.

I’ve only been doing this for about a week now, I’ve got a couple of questions which I haven’t seen in some of the other posts, but might of missed.

    1. Can I leave the winning funds in the accounts – at the moment I’m not that bothered to shift the money around – apart from Ladbrokes – most are under £50 or £0 balance anyway.

    2. If I leave the money in the account and don’t go do anything for awhile like a month – does that look too suspicious? or do I have to do Mug bets at least weekly/monthly? Also why do Mug bets if your main bet and free bet are lost and end up in Smarkets or Betfair?

    3. I’m currently working my way through the free bets and getting myself familiar with the system etc, once done I’ll look at trying the replay’s etc – however, do you tend to stick with the certain bookies that offer the best or do you monitor all of them?

    Thanks

    Stuart

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Leave money in the bookie is fine. But I wouldn’t leave big balances in some of the smaller bookies that may deny your winnings if they suspect you were abusing bonuses. I don’t think it’s suspicious. If they see you have a lot of money and are not active they may start sending you personal offers to try and get you hooked in again.

I keep about 5 bookies alive. When I get restricted I close the bookie and open another.

But it gets harder as there is only really a half dozen bookies that have decent ongoing offers.

its usually a good idea to leave a bit of money in a bookie so that you don’t have to faff about depositing if you spot an offer with them.
I tend to mug bet only if I have some money in a bookie and generally don’t bother putting money in unless there’s an offer on. BUT I have been gubbed, so this may not be the best approach. I think its just personal taste really and the way bookies decide who and when to gub is a secret only they know.
As Fog mentioned, be very careful with lesser known books, people have been caught up in some really bad situations.

OK thanks.. I’ll take the advice on board – at the moment my money’s with pretty well known bookies – so will leave it at the moment

How do you tend to know if you’ve been restricted out of interest, is it lack of offers or do you get emailed or something similar?

restricted is when you can’t get any money on, usually a message will flash up saying something like ” maximum bet is 0.40p” or variations thereof.
They *should* inform you by email (or into the email in the message section of the bookies account) if they are withdrawing money back offers and price boosts etc, but don’t always so the first you know about it is when the free bet doesn’t turn up. again, some are good, others not so much.
    HTH and good luck
