Milestone achieved

  • Started doing this matched betting on 20th October and today with the help of a couple of slots wins and lucky 15s along the way I broke through the £1000 profit barrier. If I’d known then what I know now this figure would have been a good bit higher. I’m very happy and long may it continue.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Oh I thought you were leaving for good which I thought was a knee-jerk reaction/shame.

the above users moaning and threatening to leave the forum are obviously very insecure and touchy individuals. What is wrong with a dose of realism? I was simply trying to get people to be more realistic about their earnings. I used to be a member of a subscription site for matched betting and we had people posting winnings of 7,000 on the slots. Firstly, this can make other people feel like shit because they never win anything near that and secondly it can set unrealistic expectations. If you fail to accept that fact then you are obviously completely misguided. I am concerned only about my winnings, but all I was doing was helping people to be more realistic.

Agreed on the aspect of ‘one-upmanship’ on here. It’s like a school playground at times.

However, I am surprised at some comments regarding those who doubt the credibility of other’s winnings. Like Tony S, I have not touched horses and opted to avoid a lot of other offers and have made comfortable winnings: about 450 this month so far.

It seemed like people were keen to help each other at first with offers, but this has become less and less over the last two weeks, with a distinct atmosphere of selfishness on here at times.

Once again i apologise if my post seems like oneupmanship. It certainly wasnt meant to come across that way. I was delighted that id broken that barrier and certainly wasnt trying to belittle anyone else. If anything i hope it may give a little bit of inspiration to people starting out. Im still learning what to do but am more than happy to try and help anyone in any way possible.

Pickle, I don’t think your comments are the ones being referred to. I don’t see anything wrong in your comments. Personally, I’ve not been keeping a log of my winnings, though I could go through my bank statements to see the ins and outs. I’ll start counting proper from January. I did the Bet365 £50 offers since the UCL last season, and only recently got onto this site around mid-November. I think in December I’ve made around £600-700. I’ve been lucky with a couple, like a second place horse paying in free bets as a first place, and it’s been quite a promo-heavy month, so I suspect it will dip in January, and my target then will be £500 per month.
Good luck to you – keep it up. 🙂

Walka, regarding the bet365 4/1 offer. overlay a horse with close back and lay odds
    for example:
    back at bet 365 £50 at 5.0
Over lay £58.18 on exchange at 5.2

if bookie wins you lose £44.36 but have a free £50 bet(so make £5)
if horse loses so you win at the exchange you make £5.27 profit(you always hope you win at exchange)

I’ve also noticed you few people on here who love to put people down. The forum is a cracking idea saves me loads of time trawling through all the bookies looking for offers. I wish this was here when i started 6 months ago ,the amount of times I emailed Matt for advice I think we should all be helpful and understanding. As a previous thread highlights we have all made stupid mistakes when match betting that costs us money.

Pickle, wasn’t referring to you at all in these comments. Very happy you broke the barrier. Am referring to things I’ve seen at times where someone will say “I’ve won 30 quid” and they get an immediate reply of “is that all? I won 60!” etc etc
