My theory beyond matched betting
-
Hi all have not posted in a while and have seen the forum collapse due to the lack of offers. My online career is all but over now due to being gubbed in the last week by my last few standing accounts. Anyway people will want to argue this but over the last month I turned a 4K bankroll into 21k by something called each way arbing.
The basic jist of this is to pick races with 8,9 16-20 runners and backing certain horses each way. It always works in fields of 16-20 runners where 4 are paid and works in the 8 or 9 especially when there are 2 or 3 outsiders or an odds on favourite.
For example I put 100 ew on a 12/1 shot on bet365 in a 17 runner race. I am looking to lay at 13 on betfair. Let the lay match and as soon as it has take the 12/1. Current position is your down a max of 5 pounds on bf commission. (Use smarkets if you wish)
Then go on the place markets and lay the horse. The odds on 365 are 3/1 (4) as a 1/4 of the odds. On betfair this should be lower and often trading around 3.3/3.4. This means you can play about with the numbers to make a profit but say i lay 120 @ 3.4 to lose 288 I can make around 12-14 on this part after commission. Therefore I’m around a tenner up before the race regardless of what happens.
As my bankroll got bigger I got better at it by doing multiple horses in races and laying the places 3 mins before the start of the race. people can say what they want about me being 17k up from it but I know I have made this money and the theory works if you are sharp at maths can react quickly to mental calculations and I know a few people on here would be able to do it.
Good luck to those who go for it. I will be spending some time at mates houses over the summer and taking a 50 50 cut for the use of their name.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

That’s the plan Ryan the basic jist is do normal matched betting on the win part. Then in the 3-5 mins before the race lay the place odds. It just happens that because of the lower scale of runners that an ew at 1/4 or a 1/5 of the odds make the place market profitable.
If you see the races I selected these are ones that are profitable and it’s due to certain market characteristics that do it. Usually some higher odds horses and low odds favourites help towards the place market.
+0Yeah sorry when i checked Champion Harbour was 3.0/3.05 in the place market.
That Sky one looked a beauty though.
+0Yeah it seems similar to that bet365 grand national offer when someone made that calculator, same process but obviously that had a cash refund so the odds didn’t matter that much.
Can see it being quite time consuming looking through the horses then comparing the place odds etc? But if it makes bank can’t knock it.
+0Ok so my 2 bets of 5ew and the 3ew as I seem capped at 50 wins made me a 17.77 up on the exchange. None of them placed so was 16 down to 365 and sky so 1.77 up off 16 pounds staked. So around an 11 percent profit.
If had been the old style before I got gubbed at the peak of my bankroll I would have probly done 500ew and 300ew and therefore been 177 up.
If it had been when I first started the theory probably would have done 100ew on each and been around 40 up.
It’s all relative to how much you can have in your bankroll but hope this is enough evidence to see that it works.
+0And yes Ryan never touched these extra place things until the grand national and then worked it out from there. It is time consuming but when I was having days where I’ve been making between weekly wages and months wages it was wonderful.
If you can master this I would love to serve the community who posted wonderful offers in winter that boosted profits.
+0Yeah i’ll definitely look into it soon, bank roll is tied up at the minute but something to look into in the near future based on your figures!
+0Next race is 2.40 at Windsor silver bid at 7/1 if you can match it close to 8 gives a chance as place odds will be 1.75/1 (2.75) and will be lower than that at current markets somewhere around 2.3. Basically will be if you can get any ew other than the heavy odds on favourite and your in business
+0For those who were interested the place went off around 1.9. Against the 2.75 problem was you may not have got the match on the win so sometimes it’s worth a small loss on the win to win more on the place markets.
+0Got 8.5/10.0, 2.875/2.04. Think place ended up being back into 1.8. Still about 11%.
Cheers.
+0Nice one similar percentage to the first one. Once you do a few confidence builds and bankroll builds up quite quickly.
+0Next one is 3.40 interesting one as sky are offering 5 places so if you can find close matches then you can either play a safe bet by laying 5 or going for the jackpot by laying 4. 365 have some good odds at the moment as part of their price promise.
+0Some races at Doncaster this evening 6.20 7.35 and the last 2 all profitable with the theory. Hope people have had a good day with it. Managed to make 220 as sky increase my winnings a bit before the races and despite being gubbed on pp and willhill months ago they will take some money with this.
+0Cheers for sharing this beesty I’ll have good look later
+0I tried this earlier and I saw the opportunities on the enhanced place markets, but this is surely just a quick way to get gubbed just like arbing no?or r u still allowed to do this once gubbed as long as your stakes r not restricted as this is not an offer?? I saw some huge gaps on the place but a sometimes to wide on the win. When u talk about paddys n hills are you arbing or do they run enhanced/extra places too?Cheers for any info in advance
+0Hi.
Trying to get my head around this one as only done mainly football bets previously. I want to give this a go but just a couple of questions, sorry if they seem silly!….
On the ‘to be placed’ market do they base it on 3 places for races with 8 – 15 runners and 4 places for 16 +?
You say this works when it pays 4 places on races with 16 – 20 runners….are we looking for 3 places on races with 8 – 9 runners?
