williamhill

Place £20.00 on Man Utd to win by 2 or more goals @ 2.00 = Potential profit of £20.00

betfair

Lay £23.67 on ‘Man Utd -1’ @ 1.74 = Potential liability of £17.51

Let’s have a look at our profit/loss for the two potential outcomes…

Man Utd win by 2 or more goals + £20.00 – £17.51 = £2.49 profit
Man Utd don't win by 2 or more goals - £20.00 + £22.49 (£23.67 minus 5% commission) = £2.49 profit

So, regardless of the result of the match, we’ll make a guaranteed profit of £2.49 on this William Hill offer.

Good morning Matt, which market are you laying on at betfair, your example is not so clear sorry

  2. Mario

Is it Man Utd + 1?

    1. Matt

We need to lay ‘Man Utd -1’ which can be found under ‘Reading +1’. The links in the post will take you straight to the correct market.

  3. biscuit1966

On the Asian handicap market on BF Man Utd -1 is 1.36, and -1.5 is 1.79.What is the difference please?

    1. Moneyboi

You want to bet against it not for it mate..

  4. Kingsley

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the guidance on this. Have just laid 24.24 at 1.7 on betfair so that should net me £3.03 in profit 🙂

Any chance you could explain what “Man Utd-1” actually means please?
How does it translate into Man Utd not winning by two goals or more?

    Thanks!

    1. Alex

      Kingsley,

Think of Man Utd -1 means the score starts as Man Utd 0-1 Reading and you are backing Man Utd to win. So if Man Utd win 2-0 (actual score) it will mean they will have won with a -1 handicap.

      1. Kingsley

        Thanks Alex,

So basically the bet means that Man Utd can only be a winner if their lead is 2+ goals, and that’s how it works as a lay against the William Hill bet.

        Thanks for explaining!

-1.5 on the Asian handicap and -1 on the Reading +1 market are both currently 1.71 to lay.

  6. Oliver Bennett

Matt, just thought I’d jump in. I believe the market you need on betfair is Man utd -1.5

If you take man utd -1 and the will hill boost and it ends up being 1-0 man utd, both bets lose

    1. Ollie

No as we’ve bet on a standard handicap (not asian) where we cover every situation that isn’t man utd winning by 2 or more. I.e. Winning by 1 goal is covered. The market can be found in ‘Reading +1’

  7. ste

cant find man u-1 only man u+1 on betfair

    1. df

go to Reading +1 and then you’ll find it there

    2. macho man

      it’s under the reading + 1 section..

    3. Ollie

Look for the Reading +1 market

  8. Alex

Ive overlayed 26.32 @ 1.76 for a fiver if Man U dont win by 2, risk free. Found it a tough one to call.

  9. ste

    thanks guys

  10. alfonso

I don’t see why you lay in Betfair when you can find better odds in Asian Handicap in another bookmakers. Reading +1.5, the opposite result, is in 2.3 in Marathon

  11. biscuit1966

So it’s defo Man U -1 in the Reading +1 market then? Hope so cos that’s where i’ve laid it!

  12. David

My first time looking at this type of bet. Have been looking at the william hill page but I am struggling to see which option I bet on as there are so many listed on the page

    1. Matt

The game kicked off at 12:30 so you won’t find it now David.
