Bet365 Offer – Grand National 2017

Whatever you do this weekend, DO NOT MISS this Bet365 Grand National offer! Simply place your bets on the Aintree Grand National 2017 between Thursday 6th April 2017 and midday on Saturday 8th April 2017 and Bet365 will give us half our stake back for every each way bet we place, up to a maximum total refund of £125.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us a guaranteed minimum profit of £96.85 and here’s how…

This offer is available between 00:00:01 on Thursday 6th April 2017 and 11:59:59 on Saturday 8th April 2017.

To qualify for this offer, you must be an existing Bet365 account holder and have opened your account before 23:59:59 on Wednesday 5th April 2017.

How it works:

If you’re unfamiliar with each way betting, check out my Each Way Arbing guide for an explanation of how it should be done.

Bet365 will refund half of our qualifying each way bets up to a maximum of £125.00. So, in order to claim the maximum £125.00 refund, we need to place a total of £250.00, so £125.00 each way.

For this Bet365 Grand National offer, it makes sense to place our qualifying bet on one of the favourites. This will keep our outlay to a minimum. Having looked at the odds available, I’ve opted to place my qualifying bet on The Young Master.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission in comparison to the 5% charged by other betting exchanges.

Bet365 are actually paying 5 places on the Grand National. If we lay our place bet on the ‘To Place (Top 4)’ market at Smarkets, this offer then becomes an extra place race too. If you’re unfamiliar with extra place offers, check out my Extra Place Offers page.

We can calculate our lay stakes using the ‘Extra Place’ setting on the Each Way Calculator

Placing our each way bet:

bet365 logo

Place £125.00 EACH WAY on The Young Master @ 23.00 = Total stake of £250.00

This means we have placed £125.00 on The Young Master to win at odds of 23.00 and £125.00 on The Young Master to place in the top 5 at odds of 6.50.

For those of you who aren’t overly familiar with each way betting, we can work out the place odds of our each way bet as follows…

23.00 (decimal odds) – 1.00 (stake) = 22/1 (fractional odds)… We then divide 22/1 by 4 which equals 5.50/1… We then add the 1.00 (stake) back on to get decimal odds of 6.50.

Laying the ‘win’ part of our each way bet:

Now that we have broken our qualifying bet down into two separate bets, we can now lay each part at the exchange.

I like to place my exchange lay bets with Smarkets as they have great liquidity, the site is really easy to use and they only charge 2% commission, compared to the 5% charged by Betfair.

As you can see from the calculator above, we need to lay £106.56 on The Young Master ‘To Win’…

Lay £106.56 on The Young Master ‘To Win’ @ 27.00 = Potential liability of £2,770.56

Laying the ‘place’ part of our each way bet:

As you can see from the calculator above, we need to lay £119.84 on The Young Master ‘To Place (Top 4)’…

Lay £119.84 on The Young Master ‘To Place (Top 4)’ @ 6.80 = Potential liability of £695.07

The overall profit/loss figures are shown at the bottom of the each way calculator above. We just need to add our £125.00 refund onto each total as follows…

The Young Master wins + £2750.00 + £687.50 – £2770.56 – £695.07 + £125.00 refund = £96.87 profit
The Young Master places 2nd 3rd or 4th – £125.00 + £687.50 + £104.42 – £695.07 + £125.00 refund = £96.85 profit
The Young Master places 5th – £125.00 + £687.50 + £104.42 + £117.44 + £125.00 refund = £909.36 profit
The Young Master finishes outside top 5 – £125.00 – £125.00 + £104.42 + £117.44 + £125.00 refund = £96.86 profit

So, as you can see, regardless of the outcome of the race, we stand to make a minimum guaranteed profit of £96.85!

As mentioned earlier, Bet365 are paying 1/4 odds for the first 5 places. The ‘To Place’ market at Smarkets is for the first 4 places. This means that if The Young Master finishes exactly 5th, we will win both the place part of our Bet365 each way bet and also our place lay bet at Smarkets, giving us a massive potential profit of £909.36!

You’d be forgiven for thinking it’s an unlikely outcome, but it actually came in two years ago for £419.04 profit!

Bookmakers often run extra place offers and they can be very profitable. If you’re interested in learning how to take advantage of them, have a read of my Extra Place Offers page.

If you don’t already have an account, make sure you sign up to Bet365 soon to make sure you don’t miss out on any big offers in the future. Bet365 have the best welcome offer around (£200.00 matched deposit bonus) and their in play offers on some of the biggest football matches are hugely profitable.

* The Young Master fell at the 6th fence, meaning I made a profit of £96.86 profit on this Bet365 offer. *
