Royal Ascot 2020 gets underway on Tuesday afternoon and you don’t want to miss this Bet365 offer! Simply back a winner at odds of 4/1 or more in any live ITV race and Bet365 will give us a risk-free bet equal to our stake, up to a maximum of £50.00. Translated into matched betting terms, this gives us an overall potential profit of £100.00+ and here’s how…
Key Terms:
- Offer applies to first win or each way single bet placed on each race shown live on ITV Racing.
- If our horse wins at odds of 5.00 (4/1) or greater, we’ll qualify for a risk-free bet to the same stake, up to £50.00, on the next ITV race.
- Risk-free bets must be placed using our own funds and if it loses, Bet365 will refund our stake in cash.
Qualifying Bets:
If you’re unfamiliar with qualifying bets, please see my Qualifying Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.
This offer is available on the following races each day between Tuesday 16th June 2020 and Saturday 20th June 2020…
13:50, 14:25, 15:00, 15:35, 16:10 and 16:40.
The back and lay odds should tighten up as the start of each race draws near. Having looked at the odds available, we could place a qualifying bet on Mohican Heights in the 15:00 on Tuesday.
At the time of writing, laying our bet at Betfair gives us the smallest qualifying loss.
Betfair are currently offering new customers 0% commission up to £500 for the first 30 days.
If you’re an existing Betfair customer, you can opt in to pay just 2% commission by selecting their Basic reward plan.
For more information about My Betfair Rewards and how to opt in, please see my Betfair 2% Commission page.
Option 1:
We know that if our horse wins, we’ll be able to extract 75% cash from the £50.00 risk-free bet. We can therefore add 0.75 to the back odds to get our effective odds…
5.50 + 0.75 = 6.25
We simply enter 6.25 as our back odds instead of 5.50 and lay the amount shown on the calculator. Overlaying like this is fine, but the guaranteed profits are likely to be small.
Option 2:
Our second option is to lay our bets as normal and hope a couple of our horses win for bigger profits.
We can calculate our stake using my matched betting calculator…
As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £49.28…
Place £50.00 on Mohican Heights @ 5.50 = Potential profit of £225.00
Lay £49.28 on Mohican Heights @ 5.60 = Potential liability of £226.68
Outcomes:
Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…
Outcome | Bookie | Exchange | Extracted | Profit/Loss |
---|---|---|---|---|
Mohican Heights wins | +£225.00 | -£226.68 | +£37.50 | £35.82 profit |
Mohican Heights doesn’t win | -£50.00 | +£48.29 | £1.71 loss |
So, we’ll make a nice profit of £35.82 if Mohican Heights wins, otherwise we’ll lose £1.71. Risking £1.71 to make a profit of £35.82 gives us effective odds of 21.95. So, given that Mohican Heights is odds of just 5.50 (9/2) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
ITV are covering 30 races across Royal Ascot 2020, giving us an overall potential profit of £100.00+ on this Bet365 offer!
If any of our selections win, our risk-free bet will be valid on the very next ITV race. We must place our risk-free bets using our own funds and if our selection loses, Bet365 will refund our stake in cash, up to a maximum of £50.00. If our risk-free bet wins, we’ll qualify for another risk-free bet on the next ITV race.
If you’re unsure how to extract £37.50 cash (75%) from a £50.00 risk-free bet, check out my Risk-Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

Guest userSay you won 50 stake at over 4/1. Can you then put an each way 25 pound bet on risk free if you wanted.
Matt
1490Good question… I would have thought so, but I must say it’s not something I’ve ever done personally.
Kenny rogers 777
Guest userIt’s not really clear I was looking at 3rd race and having a go at each way if I made it. I only got to 2nd race. Wouldn’t have been Pyledriver, was fancying Arthur’s Kingdom each way.
Chris
Guest userIs there any point betting on the final race each day? I’ve done this offer before and won on the last race of the day but so I didn’t benefit from the free bet. I don’t suppose there is a way to protect against this?
Matt
1490Yes Chris. If you have a winner in the day’s final race, your risk-free bet applies to the next eligible race. During festivals like Royal Ascot, that’s the first ITV race the following day. If were to happen on a regular Saturday, you might have to wait until the first race the following Saturday.
Here it is from the terms…
‘If you back the winner of the last ITV Racing 4/1 Offer Race on any day, your risk free bet will be the first bet you place on the next ITV Racing 4/1 Offer Race to take place.’
JJ
Guest userHi. When using the risk-free calculator for the risk-free bet, would it be correct to put £50 in the expected cashback field? Thanks.
Matt
1490Yes that’s correct JJ, it’s a cash refund.
JJ
Guest userThank you for the quick reply. Glad to know I didn’t make a mistake! Also, thank you for all your hard work keeping this blog going, it’s a really great help.
Matt
1490You’re welcome JJ!
Beth
Guest userSorry, can’t seem to find this info in the t&cs. If you won on a £25 each way bet, would the potential refund be for the full £50 or just the win part like how 2nd place refunds usually work.
Matt
1490It’s a good question Beth… I would imagine it’s just the win part but can’t say either way for sure.
Wingman
Guest userIt’s just the win part – had this on one of my bets in the past (before I was gubbed!)
Matt
1490Thanks for confirming @Wingman.
Dan
Guest userHow long’s it take for the refund of the risk free bet to come through normally?
Matt
1490They’re credited pretty quickly Dan…
‘If your risk free bet loses, your stake will be refunded to your account within one hour of the race finishing.’
