This offer is available on the first ITV race each day between Wednesday 19th August 2020 and Saturday 22nd August 2020.

It’s entirely up to you which horses you place your qualifying bets on.

We won’t know what odds are available until 15 minutes before the off, so I’ll use fictional odds for Jawwaal (7/2) in the 13:45 at York on Wednesday and I’ll update the table at the bottom of this post with some actual selections after the races.

At the time of writing, laying our bet at Betfair is likely to give us the smallest qualifying loss.

Option 1: Overlay

We know that if our horse wins, we’ll be able to extract 80% cash from the £20.00 free bet. We can therefore add 0.80 to the back odds to get our effective odds…

4.50 + 0.80 = 5.30

We simply enter 5.30 as our back odds instead of 4.50 and lay the amount shown on the calculator. Overlaying like this is fine, but the guaranteed profits are likely to be small.

Option 2: Standard lay

Our second option is to lay our bets as normal and hope some of our horses win for bigger profits.

As you can see, the calculator tells us that our lay stake should be £19.23…

Outcomes:

Let’s have a look at our potential profit/loss for the possible outcomes…

So, we’ll make a nice profit of £14.85 if Jawwaal wins, otherwise we’ll lose £1.16. Risking £1.16 to make a profit of £14.85 gives us effective odds of 13.80. So, given that Jawwaal is odds of just 4.50 (7/2) to win the race, this is a profitable offer in the long run.
