- Switch to decimal odds.
Qualifying bet
- Check the back odds at BetMGM and the lay odds at Smarkets to find a suitable selection. Your qualifying bet must be placed at minimum odds of 2.00 (evens).
- Use the ‘Qualifying Bet‘ setting on the Matched Betting Calculator to calculate your lay stake.
- Place your £10 qualifying back bet at BetMGM (within 7 days of registering).
- Place your lay bet against the same selection at Smarkets.
Free bets
- Once your qualifying bet settles, BetMGM will credit your account with 4 x £10 free bets. These are split between football accumulators and sports multiples and must be used within 7 days.
Football accumulator free bets
- Compare the odds at BetMGM and Smarkets as you build a football accumulator with at least four selections.
- Use the ‘Free Bet‘ setting on the Matched Betting Calculator to calculate your lay stake using the combined odds.
- Place your first £10 football accumulator free bet at BetMGM, using the checkbox on the bet slip. Lay the same accumulator at Smarkets.
- Repeat for your second £10 football accumulator free bet.
Sports multiple free bets
- Build a sports multiple at BetMGM with at least 2 selections. Compare the odds at BetMGM and Smarkets as you choose your selections to find a suitable match. See ‘How to lay a multiple bet‘ below for more guidance.
- Use the matched betting calculator on the ‘Free Bet‘ setting to calculate your lay stake.
- Select one of your £10 sports multiple free bets using the checkbox on the BetMGM bet slip, then place your bet and the corresponding lay bet at Smarkets.
- Repeat for your second £10 sports multiple free bet.
As a rough guide, limit your qualifying loss to around £0.50. Aim for £28 cash from your £40 in free bet. Based on those figures, you should make a £27.50 profit on this BetMGM offer. Your actual profit will depend on the bets and lay odds you find.

Place your qualifying bets at low odds, ensuring you meet any minimum odds requirement. Use the ‘Qualifying Bet’ setting on the Matched Betting Calculator to calculate your lay stakes.
Once received, you can convert any free bets or bonuses into cash. Use the ‘Free Bet’ setting on the Matched Betting Calculator to calculate your lay stakes. It’s best to place free bets at high odds to maximise your profits.

Your best option is to lay your multiple at Smarkets, as their platform allows you to build any multiple and lay it as one bet. Therefore, you can place your multiple bet at the bookmaker and then build and lay the same multiple at Smarkets.
