Why should I join Matchbook?

When it comes to betting exchanges, you’re likely less familiar with Matchbook than Betfair and Smarkets, which is fine.

Betfair and Smarkets have long been the most popular exchanges on the market, so you may be surprised to learn that Matchbook are pretty competitive in terms of odds. That’s particularly true for football and horse racing, the two sports we use the most when matched betting.

Matchbook also offer a range of ‘Enhanced Specials‘ markets that come in handy for laying price boosts that you cannot lay elsewhere.

Combine that with a sign up offer that gives you 0% commission on your exchange bets until 31st January 2023, and it becomes a no-brainer to register an account.

It’s important to have options. Adding Matchbook to your betting exchange roster will give you greater flexibility when looking for the best lay odds to maximise your profits.

The strategy

0% commission

The strategy for the zero commission part of the offer is pretty straightforward. Betting exchanges typically charge between 2% and 5% commission, so any bets you place with Matchbook at 0% will give you a commission saving!

Once the promotional period ends, Matchbook will charge you their standard commission rates. You’ll pay 2% on net profits (UK customers) on all markets except their Specials, which are charged at 5%.

With the 0% promotional period running until 31st January 2023, the commission savings could add up to £100’s, which is a very nice boost to your bottom line!

£10 free lay bet

Qualifying for the free bet is pretty straightforward. You can just wait until you need to lay a bookmaker bet, where the liability is £20+, and place it with Matchbook. That way, you’re not incurring any additional qualifying losses as you want to place the lay bet anyway.

Your £10 free lay bet will be credited within 48 hours of qualifying and valid for 7 days. It’s best to place it at low odds to maximise your chances of making a profit.

Similar to the qualifying bet, my advice is to wait until you need to lay a bookmaker qualifying bet. Ensure the odds are not much higher than the minimum odds of 2.00, and the lay bet liability is £10+. If your bookmaker bet wins, you should profit around £10. Otherwise, you’ll incur a small qualifying loss as usual.

If you have any issues with this promotion, please contact Matchbook’s customer support directly on the Matchbook site. They should be able to help you.
