Bet365 C4 offer

  • Could you guys point me to, or explain a simple step by step guide to the above please.
For example’ should the first bet be QB or risk free?. If it wins, what is next step.
I’ve been doing football for a while and would like to try out the horses.

    Thanks in advance

Wow, quiet in here! I guess everyone is off making muchos profits with it being. A Saturday!

For the first bet it’s just a plain old matched bet, so you want close odds else you will suffer large qualify losses. Top tip here is to keep an eye on BetFred boosts, as Bet365 normally match them, so this ca often mean getting a horse for no QL or even at a small arb price. Fred’s boosts are normally 10am and 12noon.

Obviously you need to be backing a horse at 4/1 (5.0) or higher to qualify for the offer. It is the price you take when PLACING the bet that matters, NOT what the SP ends up being.

However, if one or more horses are withdrawn before the race and the Rule 4 deductions mean your ADJUSTED odds are lower than 4/1 you will not qualify for the risk free bet if your horse wins.

Once you have backed a winner at more than 4/1 you have a risk free bet up to the same value in the NEXT Channel 4 race – this means you need to use your OWN cash to place the bet, and if it loses they refund it as CASH. Therefore you need to use the Risk Free Calculator mode when working out your lay stake.

You can overlay you lay bets to guarantee profit even if your horse does not win (there are several threads on here about that already – FoG seems to be the best at explaining that!)

That’s about it really, other than to say if you win the final Channel 4 race of the day then you will have the risk free bet in the first Channel 4 race the next day (or in subsequent days). Bet365 run the same offer each day on FEATURE races, which works exactly the same, other than Channel 4 races and Feature races are not interchangeable. That’s to say that if you win a Feature race your risk free bet is for the next Feature race, NOT the next Channel 4 race, and vice versa.

    HTH 🙂

This isn’t a great offer in my opinion. It takes a lot of experience. Lots of intricacies. Just need experience to get a feel of when to wait and when to pull the trigger because the favourable back/lay odds don’t always last long in general. Waiting to the very last minute before the race is best because the exchange odds move fast and if you move fast too then you can get the very best qualifying odds. Sometimes it feels a bit like a game of chicken.

The key to this offer is finding a horse that has tight back and lay odds AND has a good chance of winning. You’re looking for back/lay odds like 5.0/5.2 or 6.0/6.2 or 7.0/7.0. Hardly worth it going for any higher odds as your paying higher QL and also much less likely to get a free bet. Sometimes like today the odds are not just there and you skip the race. Can be hard to swallow if you have spent 30 mins tracking the odds to come out with nothing.

For laying there are 4 choices that I see.

    1. Qualifying loss (put back and lay into calc as they are – paying QL of about £3 per race hoping to hit a winner to extract £40 from)
    2. Risk free profit (always lay 51.02, if horse loses then you break even, if he wins you’ve paid out extra on the exchange so you are actually in loss but with the free bet will more than balance that out and you should come out with profit of £25-£30 when your horse wins)
    3. Guaranteed profit (add 0.8 to the back odds and put into calc like that. This will give you an over lay, so if horse wins the free bet value cancels out most of the over lay so you are up the same small amount – probably about £5 – win or lose)
    4. Constant profit ( always lay 53.06 – guarantees £2 if horse loses and more if he wins)

I don’t like option 1 or 2 because by definition 4/1 means that you won’t win often. You are likely to find yourself taking qualifying losses all day… Or you’re just stuck on zero which is hardly fair reward for the amount of time you’ve put in.

Option 3 I don’t like because you have one shot, one race to spend your free bet on and if you can’t find 80% extraction from a horse in that one then “guaranteed” profit quickly turns into loss. Also under pressure to hit 80% extraction limits your choices and you are forced to look at long odds which is unlikely to give you another free bet. Finally there is a lot of messing around with the calculator on this method which really slows you down and you will miss the window of opportunity to get on at the best odds.

I go for option 4. With 20 races per week I’ll make £40 per week even if I don’t have a winner. If I do have a winner I can lay just enough to cover qualifying losses and have a punt with the rest to go for a risk free big win.

It really is tough in my opinion to find the close odds, initially anyway until you get used to it. You really need to be tracking the odds actively for 5 or 10 mins before the off and be ready to very quickly jump on the odds when they are favourable. You won’t have much time because as soon as the exchange odds drop close enough to make it worthwhile then within seconds the bookie can and often does drop its own odds and open up the gap again.. It’s a bit easier on the weekend races with more liquidity.

Sorry, this didn’t mean to be a long post but there is a lot about this offer that I can’t explain. You need to try it for yourself and make it work the way you want it. It might not work for you if you are not free at the right time and if you’re not ready to move fast.

Anyway that’s my opinion as someone that’s been playing this offer since Jan and has adjusted my strategy as I went along. I’m not an expert just been doing it a while. Don’t know anything about the horses that I am backing either. Those that know about horses might play this different, they may be more comfortable taking a Qualifying Loss if they know the horse is worth a gamble, or backing early and laying before the race if they know the horses odds are likely to shorten. Those that are expert on the different methods and quicker at calculating the required lays might play it by the guaranteed profit approach.

Thanks for taking the time to give me such a comprehensive reply. Think I may keep to more simple bets till I get more experience.

just to add to the excellent posts above, these offers can be useful in combination with other bookies. for example if you are going for an extra place. you can also bet on the same horse at, say sky and bet365 so if win you get the 4/1 offer, come 2nd or 3rd get the MBS from sky. its probably best left until you get further into your matched betting career, and of course have a very healthy float.

    Hi again
hI want to give the 365 RiskFB a go using straight-forward QB to start (option 1 above). Where I’m hazy is the 2nd bet should I win. What amount should I put in the cashback box – same as stake?.

Hi FoG ive got an email saying 25% bonus up to £100 bet365 how do I play this ?
Do I deposit £400 and bet £50 on the feature races ?

@sleepless Yes, it’s a full cash refund if you lose, so stick the full value of your stake in the cashback box

    @Shanks
I am not FoG, but I can tell you that you are spot on, £400 deposit required to obtain the full £100 bonus. After that it’s just a matter of working your way through the WR on feature races or whatever you like. There are a lot of footy matches tonight and tomorrow (League Cup and Euro/Europa qualifiers) so it should be an easy task

Thanks for reply tony would you recommend the overlay method number 4 like FoG does to complete the WR

I don’t do the Channel 4 / Feature Race offers all that often to be honest, and when I do it is usually as I have a feeling for 4/1+ winner, so I normally go with option 1, but as FoG explains, the others options all have their merits.

In terms of getting thought he WR on the 25% deposit offer, provided you have the exchange float for it then I would use the football and go with fewer, larger bets (say £100 or £200 bets on a few games) provided you can get nice close odds matches, which is usually easy on games like League Cup fixtures when you have a clear favourite in several games.

I haven’t had the deposit offer email, but I would assume you have a fairly long time to complete the WR, so there should be plenty scope to wait for good odds if needed.

Thanks tony I assume we need to back low priced favourites and not lose the money to the exchange then ?

Yeah, but you need to make sure they are not so short that they fall below the minimum odds for the offer (which is probably 1.5?)

You could just lump the lot on QPR, currently 1.8 on Bet365 and laying for 1.82 with NO COMMISSION on smarkets – a £500 bet there would cost you £5.50 in terms of QL (or just £2.76 if you could get 1.81 on smarkets)

Use whatever markets you want though – horses, footy, ice hockey…. 😀 it makes no real difference, provided the exchange has enough liquidity to handle your lay bets

    Thanks for reply Tony.

Shanks – might be worth holding a bit back for 365 in-play offers over next 90 days. No QL

@Tony hi pal it says you have to bet 3 x your deposit and bonus before withdrawal in 90 days does this mean playing through £1500 worth?
