Betfair Each Way edge
-
So I just noticed this gizmo.
On betfair when you are placing an each way bet you can adjust the terms if you want.
For example I can bet on Top Tug in Catterick 14:20 today odds 3.25. Standard place terms are 1/5 odds, 3 places.
This is almost value as you’re getting odds 3.25/1.45 for the win/place(3) on the bookie and the lays are at 3.7/1.27 on the exchange.
BUT
If I toggle the Each Way Edge widget to only pay two places then this will increase the odds to 4.33! Giving 4.33/1.67 for the win/place(2), where the lays are 3.7/1.59 (2 to place). Which is better value.
Maybe its something someone wants to look into, but at least at first glance on this example looks like you can stretch the value you get e/w arbing by using the edge.
Anyone use this feature regularly?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

£0.00 max on all sports.
Anyone else?
Perhaps they’re closing in on us?
+0Yep looks like the game is up, just had a check and I have gone to max £20 ew on a 5 odds horse.
+0restricted to max wins £20, nearer the race £50 or £70, it changed over weekend for me as i unfortunately hit a winner on the edge (first place so no profit)
before that even saturday afternoon i could get £500 on like churchill if i wanted it
been a good run with the account, could never make that level of profit from small stakes each way arbing, because i was originally restricted anyway to like £500 wins so the second place edge was £200 or £300 profit or so max each time
oh well, onto the next betfair account
+0Marv, have you got a string of friends/relatives that allow you to use their details? Or some other nefarious method as you seem to have opened a hefty amount of BFSB accounts as indicated by one of your previous posts.
I think I managed to get on about 4 races @ £50 a time before I was severely restricted.
+0If you do have a string of new accounts to use, you’d be better off just using them for offers, ew arbs etc. If they’re clamping down so quickly on this now.
+0mwilks, only the normal method of being able to use accounts in other peoples names, i only ever have 1 account in my own name
mbpunter, i would never use an account that gets promotions for it, a account that no longer has promotions, it might be worth hitting the edge a few times at big money if can be done, i will have to make this decision
+0Betfair odds are great for bad each way races though, and the occasional shorter priced arb where they are slow to update
Whilst the edge works it may not be most profitable route to restrictions if they’ve cracked down. I’ve noticed some limits on my account now, but nothing too crazy and might just be my general betting with them rather than the little I used edge

Indeed Berman some balance might be best
I always used bet365 for my ew arbs but after a good run got closed, so I never really saw how good Betfair were for ew arbs
Would I take swap the profit for the account as it was, no, but I might be more selective on the edge going forward, definitively stay away from Irish mid week ones, the bigger meets were easier to stay under radar I feel
+0Not even done any more ew edges of bets on betfair and just thought I would check if they had released the restrictions a little, so from being able to do £20ew on a odds 5 yesterday I can now do £4ew on an odds 5 ?
+0max win of a tenner on everything…thanks guys for the edge :/
+0Havent suffered such heavy restrictions as you guys yet but worth checking back an hour before the race as you’ll probably be able to get more on.
+0Pending non runners and the lifting of restrictions closer to the race, the 8.30 at Leicester tonight is great for the edge.
+0It’s so strange, yesterday I was limited to £20 ew on 5, then earlier this morning I was down to £4 ew on a 5 and now I can stake £70 ew on a 5!!! What is going on where do I stand lol. I may leave betfair for a few days and see if it improves any more
+08.30 Leicester
Rakematiz
I managed to back and lay at 10/10 which is profit if he wins or comes second. Liquidity has somewhat gone but should re-appear. Restrictions have been eased since this morning and I got £30 ew on.
+0Got it Chris. €3.28 ew. Woohoo.
Had coverham and luxford from this morning and covered champagne queen with a free bet on another bookie.
