Winner.co.uk-HELP!!!

  • Right, I need help!! Opened an account with Winner yesterday and deposited £100. This was matched with another £100 and I put it all on a draw in the Wolfsburg game today. I’d looked at the form and thought they’d win. The tossers drew. So I’ve not got over £800 in the Winner account. How do I get rid of this?

Do I bet through the whole £1600 wagering requirement, withdrawing money from my savings account and topping up my Betfair account?

Or do I try to lose the whole lot? If I go for this option how do I do it in a sensible way which keeps as much of the profit as possible?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Cheers Tony. I don’t understand either. I just hope they don’t backtrack in some way! If Winner are anything like recent experiences with 12Bet and 138 they’ll be holding onto my money for obscure reasons. Happy to take money but you have to jump through hoops to get it back.

I went into this at a far lower rate put £50 in bet live on a match going the other way than it was at the time of betting and an unlikely score thankfully lost both bets straight away at Winner and walked away £41 up.

I too had a nightmare for Winner and would prefer not to talk about it…lets just say definitely better sticking with the basic free bets unless you are very experienced…I think this is something that should be highlighted somewhere on the blog as people see the wow £200 deposit bonus!? but don’t realize how in depth these offers really are!
Glad you sorted it out though

Aye, potential for people to get a bit excited after doing a couple of the easier ones and be blindsided. This sort of offer shouldn’t be taken lightly as it seems you could easily lose money. It’s also definitely advisable to have a grand or so to cover lay bets.

While I appreciate this site makes it’s money through affiliate links, it’d be a nice to see a small warning perhaps.

Anyway, glad to hear you got through it Dockie.

Agreed, I wasn’t experienced enough and when you’re trying to do the £200 bonus and lose it…and you end up picking a horse winner at 10/1 then have like hundreds of your own money stuck in Winner…it isnt good! Lucky enough I also managed to sort it but it was stressful wouldn’t recommend these offers to anyone except the experienced match betters!

I signed up for their offer yesterday – the full £200. I then tried to bet the whole £400 immediately on one game but I was not permitted to do that and was repeatedly offered a smaller stake. I ended up having to place (and lay of course) 8 x £50 bets on football matches over the next few days. Hopefully a good proportion of it will got straight into my Betfair account. Anything left I’ll try and ‘Lose’ in one go if it lets me. It may not of course.

    Harder work than I’d hoped.

I’d be gutted if I lost £700 Andy, although I did once lose around £400 doing something stupid. Really annoyed that so many hours of work went down the drain.

Hey everyone. I’m in serious trouble. Took the Winner offer at £200 bonus so need to play through 3200£ or get it out. Over the last few days I’ve had such bad luck with Winner account winning nearly every time.ni now have 1200£ in there and only 800£ in exchange. I’ve still need to wager 2400£ to be able to withdraw. I made one mistake when betting and bet instead of laying which had given me 300£ profit which was lucky.

Can anyone help me plan my way out of this!!!

    Thanks in advance

Bad times Gem, i’m not sure what to suggest as I also as explained above had a nightmare with Winner and would urge everyone to stay clear!

The problem you’ve got is you need to rollover 50% on multiples…and the fact you’ve got £1200 of your own money stuck there and only £800, it doesn’t look good! You also need to factor in once you’ve completed the rollover the max you can withdraw is only £1000 so if you managed to complete the rollover but had say £2k balance you’d only get £1000…it looks like you’re in trouble mate maybe someone else can suggest what to do…

Hi Ryan. Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I had started this before this thread was made. If only! I think I’m too deep with now and may need to hedge my loses. Just stop laying and see what I come out with?

I was in a sort of similar situation but basically all my cash was in winner and had nothing left in the exchange…so had to gamble the whole thing without laying as theres nothing left I could do…luckily thank god my bet won and then I had such a large stack in winner I could just throw on large bets of multiples (as you need to do 50% so £1600 rollover has to be multiples) and then I withdrew the £1000 (max withdrawal) and walked away with the losses..could have been much worse but if I could go back I never would have taken the offer…but if you don’t get as lucky as me you’ve just lost £1200 of your own money stuck in winner…hell of alot down the drain!

I dont get what the complaint here is, these kind of big bonus sign up offers are great as they yield the most profit.

I was in a similar situation in that I placed a £100 bet when I signed up and despite the odds being 16.00, it won so I had a ton of cash in the account. However, I gradually lost it to the exchange over the course of four days. I know its time consuming but all you had to do was be patient and carefully select the bets. There was no need at all to meet the withdrawal requirement of betting on multiples as once your balance is 0, the bonus requirement is over and you should have had the money at the exchange. I eventually got about £190 profit from this, by far one of the best after Bet365.

Sorry guys, don’t see the need to complain here, it was a great sign up offer, all thats required was a bit of patience, after all you have 14 days to do it it.

Well Chris maybe some people arent as experienced aa you but..as you’ve just shown it can be dangerous as winning a bet at 16 means you lost a shit ton of money from your exchange, what if you only had a £2,000 float you’d almost be out the game already…and also you say select your bets carefully? There is no easy way of doing this as you can guarentee when you want your bet to lose it will win? And then what even more money as bonus money and out the exchange…these offers are by no means easy, also find it hard to believe you gained £190 from £200 espeically after losing a bet in your exchange of that value

I’ll probably get slated for saying this but I honestly think that nearly every adult could and should have at least £20000 in savings; I believe that by saving money wherever possible this is not difficult to achieve over a few years. I already had about £35000 when I started matched betting about a year ago, I now have around £50000 and I’m proud of that.

Well I didnt mean my post to come across as antagonising but Ryan do calm down, I was merely pointing out that it doesnt have to be complicated.

I did make a big profit on this offer, if it wasn’t £190 it was at least £180 as I treated all my bets as qualifying bets and kept losses down to £2-3 a time. Why is that hard to believe? The whole concept of Matched Betting is based on this kind of thing.
