I’ve gone for Whiteout on 188bet for extra place in 13:40 Aintree. Still kind of experimenting with the Extra Place offers myself.

He is 17.0/21.0 to win and 5.0/4.8 to place with an e/w bet.

It cost me £3.62 to back and lay both bets together. And will pocket £96.38 cash if he is 5th. Effective odds of 25/1 for an average horse to finish in an average position in a field of 22. Feels like value …..

FOG I managed to get 3 different horses on the 405 race (with the extra place)….each for a loss of between £1.75 and £2.20. So might be a good one to check out

Did you win any Extra Places before?

I missed my first go by a nose, and the 2nd by about a length. Since then haven’t really been close, have done about 6 or 7.

I though I had won once but there were too many non runners so the bookie revised their place terms down to 3, so 4 with an extra place but the exchanges still stick to the original 4 place market. So bookie and exchange end up winning and losing on the same places – effectively no extra place. That’s probably why I don’t do these offers too early – wait closer to the off.

Both Coral and 188 are doing the extra place on the 16:05 – almost 30 runners so a few non runners are not going to effect the place terms. But 30 runners and open field will be tough to hit a 5th.

Odds on some on Coral are better than 188 and vice versa.

eg As De Mee is 13.0 on Coral and 15.0 on 188
Killer Crow is 15.0 on Coral and 13.0 on 188

So worth hunting around.

I won one over cheltenham but no luck since…definitely worth it though as the odds are perhaps sometimes around 50/1 that you are getting.

Are you advising coral for the fact that they do faller insurance or just for the five places? Because I couldnt see any mention of faller insurance today

If just five places I think a few others are on the case like bet365 and bet victor (which reminds me bet victor are going 6 places on the national tomorrow so 2 extra places to try and hit)

Gone for £25 on Blazer at 10 with SkyBet and 10.5 on Smarkets at 23.85 for a £1.62 loss or free bet , annoying because at one point he was 10/10.

matchedem. I meant Coral for the extra place, you are right B365 are doing 5 places too – it so should combine nicely with the 4/1+ offer there. Betfair as well who will also have the 3/1+ offer there.

Anyone got a link to confirm Ladbrokes are definitely doing 2nd place MBS today? Cant see this anywhere on their site.

back it on the exchange as well say for 100 ish pound (i assume you laid 100). Might lose a tenner or so but probably best solution now unless any others sites going over 3/1 which I doubt
