Out of interest, what would happen if I backed the winning horse in the 3pm at Beverley…..would the 3.30pm bet I’ve already placed be risk free automatically? Or would the risk free bet be the next bet I place?

It has to be the next race. Id be very careful backing a horse at those prices as if theres a rule 4 in the morning it wont qualify for the offer.

@Stanyleybayor that’s the only issue with taking the price of the next race, good if it loses but if it wins you would win nothing as such + the issue Pickle mentions above. So if you wanted to do the 3pm and the 15:30 then the only advantage the 3:30 would give you if you won would be to have a risk free bet the next day rather than profit on the 3:30 from a potential 3pm win. You have to balance that against the probability of losing though so it’s a choice thing really.

When I wrote this, it made sense in my mind but then it’s late here and I am not making much sense to myself either at the moment as I am really tired. 🙂

It doesn’t matter if you’ve already placed your £50 bet on the following race, that will count as your risk free bet if a bet you later place on the earlier race wins. But if the earlier race bet does win, and you’ve overlayed the later race horse, then back the horse by a few quid more on Smarkets, just in case it also does win.

Theres a non runner in the 15.30 and bet365 havent reformed their market yet. Hoe for you guys it was a big outsider.

How can we find out? The horse is Plane Song and has only ever won one race. Smarkets seem to have voided it without reduction.

There`ll be a rule 4 if the horse was 14/1 or less at the time of withdrawal. Ill try to find out if it was. Not sure how im gonna do that though.

Good news i think. a 2.083% reduction on the exchange would suggest it was more than 14/1. Maybe go on live chat to be sure.

I’ve noticed there are two horses with ‘Oriental’ in their name in the 3.00 Beverley, so careful with that.

Well, I spoke to live chat and they said my bet would not qualify for the offer under rule 4. However, I’ve got to admit that I wasn’t entirely sure he knew what he was talking about. Seemed to just be spouting rules at me.

There’s no reduction on the s-markets bet like there normally is when rule 4 applies. I guess the only way the check is to see what they pay out if it wins?

In fairness, I didn’t say to do the bet – I was just saying that was available!!!
