The odds of these events happening isn’t likely therefore don’t expect to win often on this offer?

That was the point I was driving at, not so much that one should expect it to pay out often but more that it may pay out at all given the long odds.

Of course it pays off do the math behind it? Lets say £1.50 qualifying loss which is reasonable. If you back a score at 9/1 and get £90 free bets which youd extract £72 from. This gives you effective odds of 47/1 when infact the actual odds are only 9/1. Granted these calculations arent strictly correct as you need to factor in you need a draw at half time but still the value is clearly there, so questioning whether its worth it or not, well there is your answer.
