Serious question given the sky one states 3 places…what happens if goes down to 7 runners do they change it to 2? Whereas exchange stays at 3

Goes down to place in top 2 rather than top 3 and if it comes 3rd you’re screwed. Thought you’d know this matchie with all your experience… ;)

Nah it stays as 3 places but with a reduction factor based on the withdrawn horse.

Not the same rules as ew betting.

    Quick questions
Harris, you search for an arb on the Sky Place Betting and lay against on exchange?.
If there are NR. Skybet applies a reduction factor if you win, but exchange doesn’t change?.

With ew match, NR you can get you screwed, but there is a reverse ew matcher to mitigate the loss (and possibly still give a profit dependingif the horse places).

Yeah sleepless, oddschecker have the odds if you search for the top x finish in every race, and usually sky bets are way off. Never had the reduction factor happen to me and didn’t realise it didn’t go down to 2 places

    With you Harris – Oddschecker!
Is that where you got Balgemmois 34/14 arb from?. (that was a weird one, odds were going all over the shop).

If there are NR and a reduction factor applied, then I guess you just hope it doesn’t wipe out your arb. Maybe Mbpunter has some comment on this.

Sleepless, i don’t have much experience with place market reductions. Just remember reading skys rules in the past. But there would also be a reduction on the exchanges too. So shouldn’t affect your arb too much. Possibly work more in you favour like ‘Win’ market usually does when a non runner.

If 8 runners go to 7, place terms go to top 2…I know because i have lost out to it in the past, horse got 3rd and i lost my back stake plus had to pay out on my lay bet :(

Are you talking about an each way bet?

“The number of places offered will not alter in the event of non-runners unless the number of runners is equal to or less than the number of places offered. In this event, all bets will be void. Standard Dead-Heat rules apply.”

Snippet from the place rules for ‘Place only’ on sky.
