Cheltenham Festival Thread

  • Hey guys

Thought I’d start a Cheltenham thread as we are only a couple of days away now. Interested to know what strategies everyone is going with particularly with the 1.30 each day as a number of bookmakers have different offers on these races alone.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Back and lay the favourite for me!

Min is a disgraceful price for an amateur!

    Yorkhill for the Supreme Novices

Mostly the typical Saturday C4 strategies but expanded out to more books. I’ll have the twitter feed live from early doors for all the boosts and hit a few shops in the a.m.
I’ll also be doing more matches early and taking a worse qualifying loss than usual. There just won’t be enough time to do it all in the 40 mins between races!

The number of offers is fantastic. I’ve been spending the afternoon writing everything down and ordering it by EV so I get everything done in the optimum order.

Everyone gonna be tuning in tonight for the preview boosts?

I was going ask what the best strategy for this was. For Tuesday I have used the risk free option on the calculator.
25 quid bet with 20 cash back if loses I’m hitting around £9.80 profit. Is this what we should be looking at or a lot more.
I should have waited till Tuesday morning really for the lay and back odds to get a little closer but he who dares and that.

I think the risk free option reduces profits so I’ll probably back the favourite with Sky and another horse with Ladbrokes. Guaranteeing a free bet there.

Keep on eye on when the freebies need to be used as they take up precious time and exchange money.

From what I can see, Sky is 3 days, Ladbrokes 7 days, Betfair 2 days and Coral the end of Cheltenham Festival.

I’m off Friday so the Sky freebies can wait until then while Laddies (if my account lasts that long) can wait until the weekend.

What do I need to avoid missing?
So far i know i need to do the first race every day with sky. Also betfair 3/1+
    I cant use ladbrokes.
Will possibly have a free bet on will hill.
Cant think of anything else other than the usual bet365 4/1+ and will hill 2nd place

Its a shame Min has come in to 2.75 from 3.0 at Betfair as I think its a great shot at their offer (probably why they’ve shortened his odds).

Betstars Day one, 2nd or 3rd for money back as freebie. Only £10 a race though, but a must still.

Am really gonna have to sit down and work out a schedule of all offers unless starlord would kindly post his ?

Isnt betfair 3/1? So Min would never have been in with a chance?

    Like a kid at Christmas!

Always kept my horses separate from matched betting as I have subscriptions elsewhere and can sometimes conflict interests however Min is my biggest lay of Cheltenham 2016!

Going and have to sit down and have a look at the Betfair offer as don’t really fully understand the maths behind it at the moment.
So avoid the risk free option with Sky you suggest. Problem is though if the horse selected does go onto win, its a wasted opportunity aint it 🙁

Well Devans if you back the favourite at Sky and it wins, you’ll get the £25 free bet at Ladbrokes for backing another horse.

Look at matts post for the betfair approach to guarantee around £10 or so each race..pretty straight forward
