Plenty of bookies paying out 5 places today, only Betfair combining with an offer though with their 3/1 winner promo. Still, worth doing if you can find some decent odds. At time of writing (6.30am) there’s not much liquidity on the place markets, but that should change later on.

Betbright are money back 2nd and extra place.

Offers sound good but there are 26 horses and the fav is 8/1 or something. So very unlikely you will pick a winner, a 2nd place or a fifth place… Worth a shot, just keep qualifying losses way down please!

A horse went to 50/1 for a while from 14/1 and then back. Anyone got experience of if they would have to honour this as I got a fiver on?

Coral are doing it if you place more than 1 horse aswell for money back free bets. Worth a look if qualy losses are zero.

I cant see anything for extra place yet.

Maybe the odds will tighten up.

But anyway don’t forget that betfair exchange has a 5 Places Market so depending on the odds you can lock in a profit regardless. Some close things at the moment but nothing worth betting on. Keeping an eye on Another Hero and Killer Crow, just can’t get them cheap enough yet.

He is 11/11.5 to win. And so 3.5 to place in top 5 on bookie with an e/w bet. So 3.5/2.9 to place top 5.

But all on betfair, and commission is killing profit, and still not much liquidity but could still make maybe £2 profit there!

Well with Venetian de Mai on betfair you are getting effective 11.8 because of the free bet for winners. So back e/w effectively 11.8/11.5 to win and 3.5/2.9 to place 5. So 18p profit on the win bet and £4 profit on the to place 5 bet.

Hmmm. What to do…

Chris, Im away all day so can’t wait on the exchange odds to become more liquid. So punted Venetian de Mai @ 11.0 on betfair e/w and Another Hero @ 13.0 e/w on Betbright. I think the promotions make them value and probably could come back and match them later to prove it.

I can’t really pretend to be a mug better and not have a bet on the Grand National!
