Free £5 bet with Betstars due to technical fault

  • Just had an email stating I have received a free £5 bet due to their site going down on Saturday. Bet has automatically been credited to account and valid for 14 days.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Anyone know details of what time more or less the site was down?
(I never received the freebet, but I’m still going to try and get one)
    :)

    1) My mate got one and I didn’t – but I wanted to place bets on Sat but couldn’t, so I’m entitled
    2) I’ve had so many heated back and forths with them through email over the last year, if they haven’t gubbed me by now they never will
    3) I pay far more in poker tourney fees (and have been for 6 years) than these little promos will ever add up to – they won’t want to piss me off
    :)

Re point 1 – so you’ll already know what time the site was down then, no?

    Fair enough on 2 & 3 ;)

Got to admire the cheek, I suppose.

The site was down or experiencing severe difficulties in the few hours leading up to the Liverpool game, which kicked off at 5:30pm – as evidenced by the timings in this earlier thread:

lol I know – I’m in two minds, but it’s the principle – and £5 is £5. Might even get an extra apology freebet for not getting the first :)

    thanks for that

Got one also. They do seem to have plenty of offers but customer support seems to be by email only.

    Email wording as follows:

BetStars experienced a technical problem this Saturday which resulted in our site being down temporarily to ensure the issue was fully resolved.

We hope it did not affect your experience with BetStars. As an apology for BetStars being unavailable, we have credited a $/£/€5 Free Bet to your account to use in the next 14 days.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and good luck with your Free Bet.

Conner, if they decide to ban you from sportsbook the poxy trader who does it wont give a shit how much youve spent on poker. A bit like the tosser from skybet who finally gubbed me yesterday :(

I hear ya :| what ya doing playing at Sky though? :P
Word is though betstars don’t readily gub – is that right? any unlucky fellows here disagree?
I can’t help but think though that the sportsbook (which is still a small part of revenue) might be a draw into the poker (which has seen stagnated user growth) and the casino (fastest growing user base) There’s a reason Nadal, Neymar, Ronaldo etc have been ‘Team Pros’ (earning the biggest salaries after only Negreanu)
Also I maybe don’t think Stars has bonus abuse as high a priority as traditional sportsbooks do (where it hurts their bottom line more – Stars poker + casino is 80%+ of revenue) in any case they’re still relatively new and growing the user base – I doubt they want to scare people off just yet?

I agree. The Bet Stars part of Poker Stars is like the clumsy teenage offspring that haven’t properly grown up yet. They keep having little accidents.

    #teethingproblems :)
yeah I think these sports promos are kinda like the worms on the hook – and the casino is the frying pan…

Lol, as if to prove my point they’ve just given me a £10 free bet for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
