Geoff Banks whining again

Theres a lot going on in that article but its the constant whinging about matched betting that gets me. Scanning through other articles too, a lot of the pot calling the kettle black.

The guy is a cretin, if he comes up with a big Grand National offer I’ll hammer it then send him screenshots on Twitter of my arbing.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I like the comment asking for a link to the sniper software.

The best bit is where he goes into great detail about HOW TO DO IT! You don’t need any software if you just follow what he describes. Maybe we should link it for newbies…

In the replies on Twitter he describes people that arb as “sitting in their underpants at home taking £50 here and there”.

Just shows how little he really understands and the hypocrisy of what he does. Read the other articles too, complete twat.

I’d rather sit in my underpants than listen to that clown Banks. He’s clearly not getting any airplay on telly these days. Sad little man!!

Yeah his beef with ITV appears to be that they have no interest in having him as a pundit whereas Channel 4 did.

Hates people making money from continually taking small margins, which is how he tries to make his money.

Wow, its nice to be mentioned alongside Nikky Henderson, Rich Ricci and Quevega! Weve made it!!

Any chance Matt could drop Betfair and the forum could be sponsored by Geoff Banks instead?

Lasted Chelts and the Midland. Put me win only today. Took him for £3k though. See how easy it will be to withdraw.
He is only saying what other bookies think and his odds were generous

I suspect the reason he shouts so much about it is that he is slowly whittling away the family business and is looking for someone to blame.

I really struggle to understand where is coming from on some of the points he makes.

He ridicules big outfits for offering NRNB and money back offers, but then goes on to talk about how he offered 1/4 E/W odds on every race, with extra places. Surely it’s all the same thing. Obviously the best offers will be thrown around for a big festival. Bookies need punters to make money, so keeping existing customers and attracting new ones is essential. Offers inevitably help with this. If you don’t like it, don’t put out any offers. We moaned about poor offerings from several bookies last week, betbright being one that stands out. They obviously decided they didn’t want to compete, so didn’t bother. Whilst frustrating for us of course, in reality you have to say fair enough and good luck to them. He decided to put offers out, but then moaned about losing money. Surely he would only being offering enhanced place terms if he felt it would be beneficial and profitable in the long run – in which case, what’s the problem? If it won’t be profitable in the long run then don’t do it!

Being reasonably new to this, the whole vendetta against people laying bets still fascinates me. I know bookies hate us, hence the gubbings and restrictions. But in reality, every matched bettor / arber could be placing exactly the same bet, for exactly the same stakes, without laying. Our outcome is neither here nor there. He is offering odds and punters have the opportunity to take them. It is up to him to organise his books and set his odds to maximise profits and minimise losses. I understand that matched bettors might be playing with bigger stakes than many regular punters, but ultimately the aim of any bookie must to get as much money laid as possible. If money isn’t being laid then they don’t get paid. If they are doing that with odds, or offers, that are overly generous then that is their look out. If a particular horse is giving him jitters in terms of potential liability then he can alter the odds, or go to another bookie or the exchange to hedge his bets. I’m sure it isn’t an alien concept to him! His outcome is identical, regardless of whether a punter decides to lay his bet, so why does our outcome matter to him?

let me guess sleepless, you hit him on le prezien?

matchtime he doesn’t care about laying, none of them do. They care about us taking value. Like you say though it’s ironic he offers 1/4 odds, wants people to place all their bets with him but doesn’t want us taking each way value. So basically he wanted win only punters

I don’t understand how the Geoff Banks TrustPilot page only has one review, which is a positive one. Is Geoff forcing negative reviews off or something?

The website looks like something I made in BTEC Level 2 ICT, signing up is so bad that you have to wait for them to send a username and password, the site is slow, and bet settlement takes ages.
The only good thing is that the odds are alright, but I can’t tell if that’s intentional.

If you were new to betting, it is not a website or name that you would trust in the slightest.

Not quite Berman – La was365. It wasa 123 in another big field that did him.
