I couldn’t see Fogs usual post – is anyone having a go at the horses today?

3pm at Southwell looks promising for WH 2nd to SP Fav 1.73 – 2.25 – 9.0 only 5 runners, 2 major outsiders, only issue could be the favs switching again

Yes I’m on the 3pm, and a couple in Wolves (3:20 and 5:50).

In the 3pm when there is two clear favourites. He is either going to be first or second, right?

Is it worth underlaying a bit so that if he wins you win, if he is 2nd to SP you break even and if he loses or 2nd to anyone eles then you lose a little more than a normal qualifying loss?

I’ve just gone for the two at Southwell.

I tend to underlay to break even if my horse wins when it’s two heavy favs, but yeah I suppose you could go one further and underlay more to guarantee profit assuming the horse does finish in the top two. This would mean a bigger loss if it doesn’t though and I’ve backed my share of heavy fav that have come nowhere!

Never like the 5/6/7 furlong races, any could win never mind 2nd to SP. A lot likely to get a 12/1 shot winning these than 2 miles+

The 3pm Southwell is 2m 4f I think? Looking like my choice may go off fav though the way it’s heading.

Minella Daddy in Southwell is 1/3 betting W/O.

So be reasonable you are going to have to pay the heavier qualification loss sometimes but very roughly two times in 3 you either win or win.

Be nice to go through a day with some return and not just a string of qualifying losses!
