Multi account set up

  • Fine folks of t’interweb. I’d greatly appreciate some advice.

After getting into MBing in February I managed to clear about £6k. With all I’ve learned on here I’d now say I’m at a reasonable standard where with unrestricted accounts I’m confident I could reach £2k a month profit. However, in the process of learning and making mistakes I have slowly had all my accounts gubbed and restricted. I’ve taken some out in the wifes name but they’ve been quickly gubbed too, despite a different IP address, presumably because of the same home address.

So, I’ve got a list of trusted friends and family who have no interest in betting, so don’t mind eventually getting gubbed, and have agreed to let me set up accounts in their name and they get a % cut. I don’t see this strictly breaks the rules although I’m sure the bookies would say different! What I won’t do is blatantly commit fraud by creating accounts in fake names. What are peoples thoughts on this?

    So here is my plan:
    1) Give my friend some cash to put into their accounts with their own bank cards.
    2) Get a VPN and bet on their behalf
    3) Get them to submit their own ID to the bookies for eventual withdrawals.
    4) Manage withdrawals as the need occurs (hence, I’ll only use trusted friends).

What are the flaws with this please? I know sod all about tech. I understand I need to get a VPN, but do I also need a new device for each account (ie a cheap laptop etc) so they can’t link accounts via computer ID?

I’d be grateful for your thoughts…. Ta.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

It’s a code that has been around a while – I successfully used it a few months ago even though I first saw it advertised around Cheltenham time.

I think that if you download and open the Racing Post mobile app, when it first launches and asks you which bookie’s odds you wish to display, if you select Hills it then shows the code at that point.

Fair point though, that this code ‘might’ no longer work.

    Hi,

Do I need a separate 3g/4g plan for each set of accounts? Like 1 plan for my brother’s accounts and another 3g/4g for my friend?

Just to add my tuppence ha’penny in. I use two PC’s with one screen and a KVM switch. I also have virgin broadband on cable and sky broadband installed through the telephone wire. It is so easy to be logged on to two accounts at once and the push of a button switches between both so I can get bets on to two accounts and lay in seconds.
The virgin broadband was installed anyway and the sky broadband costs around £20 per month. With muti accounting I reckon I have turned over around £1 per month on average just mainly doing offers. I haven’t tried ew arbing as yet or extra place offers, nor does my wife like me doing much at the weekends (which are the most profitable), so I reckon £2k a month is doable with a bit more effort and understanding from the wife . My new years resolution is to start ew arbing and extra place offers asap

Good info guys. Got a 4G sim for £15 a month with plenty of data plus a Samsung Tab A on 4G for £110. Bargain.

On a separate note, i’d echo Clive’s comments re Saturdays betting. Never seem to have them free when all the good money is to be made. Still – I wouldn’t make as much as the divorce would cost me!!!!

How long did it take them to cotton onto your wifes accounts? straight away?

Im quite young and have just moved out of my parents house. Ive changed all my betting accounts addresses to my new home address but they used to be my parents address, wonder if i can get away creating accounts in mothers name using that old address i used to live at without them linking us together and gubbing both sets of accounts. hmm..

I have betting accounts opened up in my mums name that Id like to use, but I dont want to have to use her bank details to fund them in case it affects her credit rating. Having spoken to PayPal I wont be able to use the “friends and family” work around as they would likely reject any payment from her account unless there’s a bank account linked.

    Any suggestions?

grinningbeast – get your mum to open a new account online – you can do it for her – she then gives you the switch card and passwords etc on the understanding you will never go overdrawn – she will need to trust you!

You can then use that account only for matched betting purposes in relation to any bookie accounts in her name and it will not affect her credit rating.

Has anyone given much consideration to the legal side of running multiple accounts using friends and family?

With matched betting as popular as ever it seems that opening multiple accounts has become standard practice for a lot of people. As far as I’m aware nobody has ever been taken to court for running multiple accounts other than a case where identities were stolen to create accounts.

I acknowledge the case above is different from using compliant friends and family which you pay a commission or fee for their details and you could not be indicted on the same charges.

The bookmakers have obviously caught the less shrewd and the worse case scenario seems to be they close the account keeping the funds. It makes me wonder whether the bookmakers would succeed if they took someone to court, even just to make an example of them to limit others from doing so. The fact they haven’t makes me wonder if it would get thrown out or it’s just not enough of an issue to them.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Yeah I would honestly purely stick to opening accounts you know are 100% safe (e.g. your wife – just use the same address etc, and only once you’ve been gubbed). You might not make as much money, but you don’t lie in bed at night worrying the police are coming round 🙂

@tony or anyone else using the Paypal solution, how do you have to verify your ID with Paypal (after receiving over X amount)?

Also, what if a bookie wants you to verify your ID? When this happened to me before, they always asked to see a copy of the bank card I used to deposit. Would they ask for something different if depositing by Paypal?

Giving this a bump as no reply before, any advice appreciated!

Sorry @Alvin just seen your posts now.

I haven’t gone back thru the thread to read what has already been said, but whenever or whoever asks for ID verification, you just need to send scanned copies of passport/Drivers licence/utility bill… all the usual stuff.

That’s why it’s a good idea to get those scanned docs at the point you set up the account, with the full consent of your partner in crime. I also always explain that there may come a time when I need THEM to speak to PayPal/bookie… Highly unlikely as you can do most if it by live chat nowadays, but possible.

    HTH 🙂

Haven’t read the whole threat but im currently running 4 to 6 accounts at some bookies on the same laptop, same wifi. Pretty much had no issues at all apart from Betfred that don’t allow me to even log in (ban straight away) and Betstars asking details as to how im linked to the other accounts etc…

    Is one of them Hills?

How much you making a month off those kind of multi account volumes?

Hills is fine! And not tons as I don’t do every single offer like I used to but it keeps me going along nicely 🙂
