Players Championship – Extra Places

Numerous bookies offering 6 places each way. A couple are offering 7 places. Can lay top 5 finish on betfair. Definitely worth doing this with a few bookies, you can use oddschecker to see which bookies are best for each golfer!

These tournaments are usually 4 days so your money will be tied up over the weekend unless your player misses the cut.

Thanks for the HU on this rcw86 I did a little bit of betting on the US Masters recently but haven’t really paid much attention to golf, I shall take a look at your suggestions.

I’ve just noticed although PP are one of the books offering 7 places EW, they give 1/5th odds not 1/4 like everyone else.

Skybet were 8 places for the Masters

I basically covered the first 8 in the market odds wise, it was a £20 qualifying loss in the hope that one finished 6th, 7th or 8th

Dustin Johnson finished tied 4th so I got some return off him, profit for the event was about £20 ish

Day and Mcilroy finished one shot out of a tie for 7th so I was close to hitting a decent return of over £100

If a player had finished 6th, 7th or 8th on their own, I think it was £100 ish per place

I would be interested in doing the same for those offering 7 places, 6 places is pointless in my opinion, never mind over laying for peanuts

I should say I covered those 7-8 golfers in masters for overall £250 ish

So dependent on prices it ranged from £30 ew to £15 ew abouts

I am looking at Dustin Johnson again for this – he hit the extra place in the Sky offer for the Masters.

He is 33/34 to win which means 9/?? to place. Could try laying 9.0 to place and see if it gets a match back on the exchange at 8.6 top 5 but no lay available.

Ricky Fowler looks like a good shout. Don’t know what you are talking about Kisner 81/120?

So even though there is an extra extra place on StanJames, doesn’t appear to be worth it as you will be losing more in the qualifying losses than its worth.

Dustin Johnson currently 36.00 with Skybet, Lay 38.00 Betfair = QL -£0.99

The place part
36.00 -1.0 = 35.00/4 = 8.75, Lay 9.0 Betfair = QL -£0.71

So £1.70 shot on him finishing 6th pays £77.50??

You need to add 1 at the end so it’s 9.75

Don, think your place odds should be 9.75. Nice arb there.

36.00 converted to fractions. 35/1. Divide by 4 = 8.75/1, convert back to decimal 9.75.
