Ryder Cup – Various

  • Just looking this morning at what offers are on for the Ryder Cup.

    These are from bookies I am on, others I have been gubbed from I haven’t bothered looking.

    BetVictor.
    ========

    Bet 20 on the outright and get a 5 free in play. Currently USA are 1.61/1.65 for a 65p qualifying loss.

    BetStars.
    ========
    Place a pre-match single bet of $/£/€20 or more on any Foursomes, Fourballs or Singles match market at the Ryder Cup – September 30-October 2 – and we’ll credit you with a $/£/€20 Free Bet for every eagle your selection hits.

    Probably not worth it, eagles are pretty rare. Anyone have stats?

    ==========
    Acca insurance. With our Acca Insurance you have a safety net on your 2 or 3 ball accas (with 4 or more selections) by refunding your stake as a free bet up to £25, if just one lets you down at the Ryder Cup.

    Should be possible to find tight odds on any Brits for your acca because Stan are also doing a price promise there.

    Not much really for me. All in all hardly worth £10 profit between the two offers there worth doing. Am I missing any “must do” offers?

  • New to matched betting?

    My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    Cheers fog as always. The eagle one is interesting. For every hole on Friday/Saturday we would potentially have 2 players in each game. In the Ryder cup the players are a lot more aggressive as its a hole by hole comp and not a normal add your score up and go along.

    Realistically it’s only possible on par 5s and I know the Americans have set the course up to be as long as possible.

    Boyle are also doing a acca insurance like Stan. The acca’s will be hard to lay if you are looking at laying sequentially obviously one match won’t be finished when the next match starts.

    I’m not sure on the whole structure of the Ryder cup.

    So beesty. With the betstars offer we have 2×18=36 chances at getting an eagle? Is that right? Even a small chance at an eagle might be okay as you get 20 FB per eagle. https://www.pgatour.com/stats/stat.155.html Checking stats and Dustin Johnson has only 16 eagles in 1476 holes in 2016. He seems the best bet, but very unlikely it would seem without me having any knowledge of the course/holes.

    Interesting stats let’s assume a player hits an eagle once every 100 holes. In the Ryder cup there are 16 fourballs and foursomes. And 12 singles matches. If every match went the distance there would be 64 X 18 holes played in the fours games and 24 X 18 on the singles. Meaning a total of 1584 holes could potentially be played. So the chance of 15/16 eagles and if we get half right 7/8 free bets.

    Even if it was 1 in every 200 holes then there could still be 8 with us say getting 4 right.

    To me it seems worth it if qualifying losses could be a pound or less over the 28 matches. We would need 2 eagles over 3 days to break even.

    Interesting. You will get the odd 2nd shot being holed on a Par 4, hell possible even an hole in one on a Par 3, but most eagles will obviously come on the Par 5s.

    Hazeltine has four Par 5s (3rd, 6th , 11th and 16th), only one of which is under 600 yards. You could argue that a lot of matches will not reach the 16th, so in several matches you could be looking at just three Par 5s being played.

    Just to correct a comment above, you will not have 2 players playing their own ball in every match over Friday/Saturday – that will only happen in the Fourballs where each player plays their own ball. In Foursomes each team plays a single ball, taking alternate shots, so your team only has 18 chances at eagle in a round.

    I am also still trying to work out whether the PP promo of double odds if your selection (foursome, fourball, or single) wins by 4 holes or more is worth a shot. It will obviously depend on the odds available, but 9 matches were won by 4 or more holes last time out, so there could be some money to be made here.

    Pairings for tomorrow morning’s Foursomes will be announced tonight after the Opening Ceremony (10pm ish UK time). That will be the first chance the bookies get to price up the first round of matches, so there could also be some opportunity if they price some ‘wrong’

    The 5th is a driveable par four, depending on the conditions. Two of the par fives are reachable in two. Do concessions count ?
    This is the only time I regret no longer having sky sports. Looks like I’ll be watching on the iPad or wor lasses dodgy box if she lets me have the telly

    True, the 5th could be reachable for some, depending on what they do with the tee position.

    Concessions should count, but a valid point to check out in the T&Cs – wouldn’t surprise me if they say gimmes don’t count!

    Also ditched sky sports a while back, but have splashed out for a week’s Sports pass on Now TV as there is no way I would miss this ;)

    Coral money back upto £25 if your selection leads after 9 holes but fails to win. Should be some value there.

    Interesting information Tony + others this is what makes it a great forum with these guides.

    Anyway here are some stats that I have spent some time finding and working out this afternoon.

    In the 2014 Ryder cup there were 8 Eagles.

    3 occurred in Fourballs
    1 occurred in foursomes
    4 occurred in the Singles

    5 Eagles were scored by USA
    3 Eagles were scored by Europe (All in the singles)

    As Tony correctly stated there are only 2 balls being played in the foursomes so I guess this halves the chance of hitting an Eagle.

    Based on my stats and my interest in the competition I will be looking to have a go at the Eagles offer and hope a few people on here have a go as well!

    Thanks for those stats beesty, struggled to find anything myself.

    I don’t suppose you know which player or pairs carded those eagles, or even whether 2 or more came in the same round?

    Depending on the pairings I might have a go at the eagle offer – will all depend on the odds tbh

    All were in different matches and from memory I don’t remember the same player getting 2. I may be wrong though. I will definitely be having a go at the Fourballs there should be 1 in each session I reckon.

    Premier Players on 888Sport offered £30 free per day if betting £150 per day – plus a £30 bonus if you bet £600+ over the 3 days.

    Having never bet on golf with them before I’m a bit dubious that this could lead to a gubbing. They’re a good bookie so don’t want to lose them – are they known for gubbings (particularly for premier players)?

    Cheers beesty

    Premier status invite only with 888? They seem to have the same app layout as Unib*t so likely affiliated in some way. Unib*t also power Sham James and they seem quite trigger happy. Who knows what will get you gubbed these days though ?

    With the 188 offer the tie is presently 13/13
