S Markets

  • So I have been Matched Betting since May and always used Betfair and have gotten very used to it! I think it was back August time? can’t really remember..but Matt started to use S Markets on his blog but I decided to stick it out with Betfair as I was comfortable with sticking to what I know. However, as my knowledge of matched betting has increased I now feel more comfortable opening an S Markets account alongside my Betfair as I think it will be handy to have both due to the 2% commission, and therefore laying off any popular bets such as premiership games I suspect the odds between S Markets & Betfair will be fairly similar.

Could anyone let me know how you go about the £10 bonus you get from S Markets? It says any loss will be refunded up to £10, so I therefore just have to back and lay and hope the bet wins in at the bookies? and therefore loses at S Markets?

    Cheers for the help!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I pretty much exclusively use betfair and what you have to remember is that your commission level drops – so in a month mine has gone from 5% to around the 2%\3% range. So it isn’t necessarily always a 5% charge as most state.

How have you managed that Lealdo ?
Are you sure you are not mistaken, and what you actually have is a 2
% discount on your commission of 5% meaning you have a true commission of 4.9%.
To go from 5% to 2% is nigh on impossible.

Yeah I think your mistaken there…i get around 4.7% on betfair with all my points that I have..I think even the limit isnt even close to 2%

It is possible that is what I have done, although my calculations show I am getting more than a 0.1% discount – so must be somewhere between. Certainly put a lot through betfair monetary wise last two months but will look into the exact amount. But the point still stands that 5% isn’t the true figure you necessarily pay.

I guess it is possible betfair says if you have over 150,000 points you get a 60% on the 5% commission. However, my points have never been over around 4,000 and I thought i used it a shit load!! take into account they decay 15% each week you must absolutely hammer it!!

It is very easy to calculate the actual commission rate.
With respect,if you cant do that correctly, dont really think you should be matchedbetting in the 1st place.

It’s probably pretty tough to get your commission rate below 4.7% on BF through matched betting alone. Even if you wanted to achieve like 4%, you would effectively need to be betting £10,000s every week (in liability, so to speak).

LOL I’m being a massive ass, but if you don’t know simple probabilities, I think that’s more of a hindrance to any betting activity. 😉

Well I have around 3000-4000points on average I struggle to believe how lealdo has over 150,000 in order to get the commision he speaks of

I think Lealdo has made a false statement in error.
Thought he would have come back by now to state the actual commission, its not hard to work out.
Prehaps hes trolling through forums looking for a calculator to do it for him.
