I’m new to betting on the horses, but these offers (sky 2nd and 3rd) have been good lately especially when combined with Ladbrokes and WilliamHills 2nd place offers. However with such a big field this one seems different. I understand thats why sky has added the 4th place, but is it still worth doing the Ladbrokes and WilliamHill offers?

I personally would only bother with the sky one and only do wh and ladbrokes if you can get a really close match.

This one is made tough by the fact there are so many good horses running and from top to bottom their stats are very good. A number of horses have been placed in all of their races so there are strong cases to be made for them, they are Two Taffs, Divine Spear, Potters Legend and Potters Corner. The latter two are 17.0 though so require a big liability in the exchange.

I’ve decided to go for Alcala, saw him run at Fontwell a few weeks ago and is a great horse. Backed him at 13.0 last night and he’s now 9.0 so should make a nice qualifying gain too.

He’s 9.0 on Sky, where they traditionally are and tight as **** on the horses likely to finish in their refund spots (just look at the green shortening indicator in all horses from 2nd – 5th Fav!), but he’s still 13 on the Exchange mate.

Bit of a mine field this one like, will only bother if I can get online as they are going down and find a close match

The favourite is 11/2. And it’s 1/4 odds for place. So just above evens that you get your free bet. Worth it on him at least in my opinion if you can get any decent qualifying loss on him.

The rest at 8/1+ have a much smaller chance of placing.

He’s still 13 on the exchange because its 10.30am. Will shorten before the race.

CashedUp if you find a way to guarantee your pick finishing 2nd 3rd or 4th im all ears

Off the top of my head though…if you pick the same horse on bet365 you’ve got 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th covered you could probably then lay off the place market? but I suspect the profit in this would not be much

Not convinced Alcala a “great” horse – winning at fontwell in a Micky mouse race last time doesn’t suggest that. If he was that good Nichols would have him in his Cheltenham team surely.

To be fair to Chris though, he normally picks the right ones for these, don’t you Chris?

What are you fancying (regardless of current odds) roly?

Favourite could be 2-3-4 but not touching race given odds differential. Keeping pot for next week .

Hi, I’ve never bet on horses so I’ve got a few questions.

    1. When trying to bet on a winner, I just choose the odds or SP – what does SP mean?
    2. Since the offer returns my stake if the horse finishes 2nd-4th, I’m guessing it only applies to straight winner bets, not each way, as for the latter you get some back for the horse placing – am I correct?

    Cheers for any help.
